Why can't I press "Print Scrn" and get a screenshot?

Every game that behaves this way, I question immensely. This dumps a black screen in mspaint. Why?

Steam has a built in screen capture via F12.

Somethingsomething playing in full screen, idk. As said above, just use Steam's F12. Or have the game be windowed/borderless, which usually works with prntscrn.

What`s so bad about Steam`s image hosting that people feel the need to use unembedded imgur?

Because it's a lot more click, unpractical, annoying and not always very functional.

To send a picture here i gotta F12 in game, sometimes go the folder deep in steam or find a shortcut/go to the steam tabs/game in library, upload it, then go in my activity because it won't appear anywhere, then select the screenshot, open it three times, open it in a certain way, then right click and copy past the link. It's a mess.

Imgur is usually just

Yeah no when i do that it just sends the link to the default screenshot page. That's still more steps than imgur even if you did that above.

Steam links here on Steam preview the picture vs Imgur being just another potential phishing link from the endless source of people attempting to steal account info and items.

That's enough in and of itself to not bother with Imgur when on Steam.

The 4-5 adds I get a day from scammers/phishers trying to steal my account via obvious fake links would beg to differ.

All you need to do is
F12>Manage screenshot>upload>view online>copy/paste URL
It`s not THAT much harder and it`s neater
Also print gets both my monitors, so i`d have to manually crop)
