Is this game abandoned?
It is been almost a year without an update and more than that without any new content. I wonder, have the developers abandoned this wonderful game? If that is the case that is trully a big shame cuz this game has so much potential.

The game is complete, not abandoned. It was complete a year ago, and it was complete a year before that. Single player games don't generally get continuous content updates for years upon end.

What they said. What about the game do you find so lacking that it has "so much potential" that isn't being reached?

If you see so much potential, you're welcome to Mod it in.

I second that you should check out the mod community if you think the game's missing something.

As everyone has said. Finished, not abandoned. It's reasonably bug free ( no game is 100% bug free ) and well balanced. You can't expect every game, especially indie titles, to have ongoing patches forever, especially without a continual income stream from the game like a subscription or ( barf ) microtransactions.

Devs also invested on launch on other platforms. Works great on consoles and mobile too!

hey guys, first of all thanks for all your comments. Secondly i want to clarify that this thread was not an accusation to the devs or an effort to demean the game. It was more of a concern. It is one of my favourite games and there is not a day that goes by without making a run to the Heart.

As for the potential and the extra content. I would love to see more characters, more "monsters", more cards and more modes. Like a pl. v pl. (either 1v1 or 2v2), a coop mode, and arena feature maybe. New paths with new baddies etc. I wouldnt mind one or more DLC. I think that the game is still popular with a dedicated and loyal player base that would love and be excited with new content and would support it via DLC or a Slay the Spire 2.

Anyhow, if the devs believe that this is a finished project and the community is happy with that, who am i to argue.

Stay healthy and happy slaying everyone.

Do check out the workshop. It's surprising people keep making new content after all these years. Not many authors have made mods that are nearly indistinguishable from vanilla content but I find myself replaying some of the more experimental ones too.

Meanwhile, if you feel like being concerned about anything, the spire board game was supposed to come out in summer this year. :p

Yeah nowadays I'm surprised if I see a finished game on Steam/anywhere and there ISN'T at least one thread/review about "ABANDONED GAME!". If there were promised-but-unimplemented features or was still in EA stage, then yeah but otherwise? It's like the concept of a game being considered 'Complete' is alien to gamers these days xD

That said, it would have been cool if there were more events/enemies, but tha'ts what (PC) mods are for. Might not be able to enjoy them on my Switch or Mobile, but ey. Does kind of make me wonder though, what the point of saying how much starting gold characters have when they all start with the same amount haha

Ultimately though, the only thing I really *really* wish they'd add someday is Lore Entries. Cards, enemies, etc having a little bit of history to read about them or whatever.

Back in EA, there actually was a(n always locked) Bestiary page next to the Relic and Card libraries. I always kinda wondered why they scrapped that.
