Generally this fight takes a while as Ironclad, unless you've got some insane strength scaling build (which is rather rare early into act 2). I recommend taking turn one to either prep (play powers) or to just dish out damage. Turn two is the debuff, but a rather weak hit. If you believe you can finish him on the next turn, I would just tank this damage and hit him. If not, block, play it slow. Expect to lose a bit of health to this guy, not too much though.
This is true, but the Spheric Guardian usually comes with a few stacks of artifact. Usually not worth trying to get through those artifact stacks as Ironclad, a lot of the common debuff attacks (uppercut, bash, clothesline, etc) cost 2 energy. If you manage to get the vuln, great. If not, it's really not that important.
