Slay the Spire
Has anyone beaten Donu and Deca and if so how?
Okay so I have only fought this Boss twice. The first time i had a good build but not an amazing one, this time though i had an AMAZING build. They crushed me both times, I just can't see how you are supposed to beat them.

To put it down:

1) They have 250 health each

2) they do a double hit attack every turn with a base attack of 10? per hit

2b) They buff pretty often uniti they have 9+ strength thus dealing 38 damage per turn

3) they can add block to negate a turn of damage, ironically this is one of their nicest moves as it doesn't screw you over long term.

4) They have Artefact so it's hard to debuff them to make the fight more manageable.

I had a really nice Barricade build with various strength buffs. I gained 5 energy per turn and on a decent turn i could gain like 60 block. That combined with Body Slam and various other good attack cards made everything up to Donu and Deca easy, then they smashed me.

Also I started the fight with like 70ish health and i healed for 24 mid fight using Reaper. I only got one of them down to 115 while the other was basically untouched.

I beat them on my 3rd run with Silence.
2 infinite shivs, 2 (1 armor per card used power), 1 (3 shiv drawing card thing), used +prepared to cycle the cost cards,

5 mana and top that doesn't stop = nearly endless draws for more shivs
And add Kunai with shiv spam.

Edit:
Killed them again. Silence w/ cloak and dagger spam + shuriken + Finisher carried me.
Taskmaster or orb fight was harder with this build.

i have a problem with Donu and Deca.

Donu is named i assume for donut, after his shape, which means i assume Deca was supposed to be decahedron.

but it's not a decahedron, it's an octohedron! Deca should be Octo! lies and scandal!

in all seriousness, i just beat them last night with a perfect strike deck. i think i had 5 perfect strikes (upgraded) by the end, and along with the random other pommel strikes and twin strikes i think they were doing like 47 damage base. had a few relics that increased energy of course, so i could easily use expensive cards.

Killed them with a Silent infinit hand discarding on turn one. Panache was a great help, so was a sundial, though wasn't as close to ideal run as i had in my mind (no tingsha or letter opener).

For em the most effective way is to go for Donu since he can +Strength buff them which makes everything harder.

stopped reading at apotheosis. easily the best card in the entire game.

How are they one of the easier bosses exactly?

They are straight forward and can't punish your build. If you are stronger, you win every time.

On how to beat them... Abuse your relics. I managed to oneshot both with Ironclad once by abusing Pen Bud, my recent Silent was even more ridiculous

Oh they do punish any build that can't deal with dazed effects. I found that out the hard way once. Discard decks especially.

I just spammed Power Through, multiple Fiend Fires+ coupled with tons of card draw. The deck was just so ugly and stupid. It worked way better before that boss just filling your hand all you can and exhausting with Fiend Fire. The artifact which deals 3dmg AoE when exhausting was 10/10 for my deck

They're a hard counter to small/cycle decks (they put junk in your deck) and to slow decks (they buff Strength).

Otherwise they're kind of straightforward. Just beat them earlier today with a rather ordinary deck. I had Barricade, two Flame Barriers, two Armaments+, two Madnesses, one Inflame and one Spot Weakness, a Heavy Blade, a Whirlwind and a bunch of other random junk. It was a pretty huge deck actually, 29 cards, because card removal is just too expensive. Four energy per turn.

Even a suboptimal deck like that did very well against them, I came nowhere close to dying.

More and more, I find that while specialized deck can let you easily obliterate anything that isn't a counter, the risk is just too great. Better to make a relatively generic deck.

killed them 3 time i think. 2 time silent, 1 ironclad. i usually take care of donu to prevent circle of power from snowballing out of control. Deca is only the tank of the group, not the DPS. so keeping him for last can help you.

I beat them with Silent, used a poison deck, had a lizard tail. Entered the fight with only 50% hp. Won the fight with one turn to spare.

I just killed them with ironclad. I had the pyramid relic so everything stays in my hand, then built an exhaust deck. With my powers I drew more cards every time one exhausted and gained armor and each turn I got 3 str from the demon power. A some healing and card doubling + the upgrade all cards in hand card. The mvp was the friendly fire card. I attacked with almost 200, gained like 40 armor and had another hand full already. Saved me a couple of times during the run. A very fun and most unique run so far for me.

....?
How. "By this time"?

This is a fun one. Remember to pick a relic or two on the way! ;)

edit: I started to win some games after watching his let's plays, the way he thinks/builds his strategies/synergies was very helpful for a card semi-noob like me.
