Heart Ended my Game??? Game over?

After about 6 hours of game play I beat the third boss, the bird thing, and came across some massive heart. After some stupid text, my character decided to sleep. Is this game over? Did I pay 25 dollars for 6 hours of game play? I searched all over the internet and it seems there's supposed to be a legitimate boss fight, and I can't find anything talking about it ending the game.

Thanks for the answer. I was confused because my brother who also is playing this game said he made it to the fourth stage and died. Apparently he remembered wrong and he was still on the third stage when he died.

The Heart is actually a boss on the 4th stage. Your brother probably died fighting it for real.

To unlock act 4 :

Beat act 3 final boss with all 3 characters After this on your following runs you get the option to pick up 3 key parts :

1 from a rest site ( if you pick the key you can not rest or smith on that camp )
1 from a special flaming elite (there is 1 on evey act. so you do not need to take the first you see )
1 from a chest ( you do not get the relic there also is in that chest you must choose )

now get all 3 keys to the final boss in act 3 ( getting yourself killed also drops the keys and you start over ) if you kill the final boss in act 3 with all 3 keys on you, you enter act 4, note that you need to do this every time you want to go act 4.

once you are in act 4 you are likely to die.

to *complete* Ascension 1-20 you *just have to clear act 3 boss no need to do act 4 if it is Ascension progress you are after.

to answer the question in the OP post :

No you did pay 25 bucks for having a fun time and likely 300+ hours of gameplay.

Thanks so much for taking the time to type all of this! Just finished beating act 3 with two of the three characters, but orb man is giving me trouble. I'm assuming there's a huge jump in difficulty after clearing act three with all characters.

Yes ..act 4 is very much not a option in most runs as it takes very specific setups to do and the figthts are very different the the other fights you have seen, to put it simlpe you need a LOT of armor on demand and or *endless* damage

Think of act 4 as a bonus stage you do when you hit that *perfect* run, and not a act you do on every run.

Just got to Act 4 for the first time, that final boss is very tough.
