Killing the heart with Ironclad or Defect
Hey all,

so I found it pretty easy killing the heart with Silent. I can't seem to do it with the Ironclad or Defect. With Defect I tried stacking frosts and casting Blizzard, but I don't deal enough damage, and then I just die.

What combos are best with these two? What are viable, trusted options?

Thanks!

I'm finding more and more than defensive builds have an edge over offensive or value builds. The ironclad is a tank with barricade deck. A said above it has a bunch of combo pieces but it can quickly get to a point where enemies simply can't do enough damage to harm you, then you just wait for body slam or your prize attack to cycle through, the ironclad also has the best starting item in the game I think since this game is not about one fight it's about preserving your resources and value over time; IE the more often you use campfires to heal the less long term value you get out of smithing. The Ironclads also one of the best classes for being able to give your deck expensive out of combat effects like exhaust (remove a card) and upgrading cards in your hand (slightly worse smithing).

Hey guys, I just managed to beat the heart with the Defect. Can't believe it :D I did it by having the calipers relic that only makes you lose 15 blocks per turn, I stacked a ton of blocks, literally had hundreds at one point, and the heart could hardly damage me. So fun. Imagine what can one do with the calipers on the Ironclad...!

Good tips and all, thanks!

Calipers do nothing for Ironclad, because he has Barricade. People suggesting a Barricade deck are certainly not wrong, but I don't think it's the best vs the Heart, since you won't be able to start stacking block before turn 4. I would try going for a strength deck. Have a few points of strength to start (relics can be very helpful here), Limit Break or/and Demon Form to get more strength over time and you will kill the Heart in a few attacks. Of course you need strong defense too.
