It's too much RNG
It ends being really boring due to too much RNG.

It's not about skill but luck. Relics are a big problem too. I'd like better cards instead of relics.

I think I've reached the point of uninstalling it and moving to another thing more fun.

I will respectfully disagree with this. Of course there is a lot of randomness in the game, it is a cardgame, randomness comes with the territory. However, learning how that randomness works, what choices can mitigae it or turn it to your favor, is a skill.
If you make the right choices you win, learn what the right choices are and the randomness will not stop you.

I don't understand this statement. If you spend some time figuring out what cards are strong, and works together, you will find that there are plenty of good cards in the game already.

This is of course up to you, if you are not having fun, moving on is probably a fine idea.

Agreed

I also agree. Since the inclusion of the Heart the game has been more cruel on its dice rolls. I know its already too far in development but I would enjoy each character having a more unique start to their decks.

For example - Since the Silent is known for shivs and poison, perhaps starting with some instead of the basic deck + neutralize + survivor would make the RNG/terrible dice rolls more palatable.

I agree, especially with the chick.

going back to the topic, If you arnt having fun playing, dont play. This game is a roughe like and it is a card game both had very huge factors of luck. the skill in the game is knowing youre opptions and how best to use them

If you're complaining about bad luck on the default difficulty then it is definitely a case of "git gud". It is pretty unlikely for any run to be unwinnable unless you got a really horrible seed. People have gotten big win streaks on high ascension levels. And a good player could effectively go inifnite on the default difficulty.

yeah agreed. Enemies that hitting as hard as half your life total where you have no block cards in the hand are real fun.

You got a point there, if we're talking about higher level ascension mode or heart runs, but at normal difficulty, the game's mostly pretty consistent.

Although, some Act1's can be really bad at times, leading to some "oh come one really?"-moments here and there. Except for The Defect - that little robot just has so much more possibilities, than the other 2 characters, without having to rely on energy relics.

Given how much the game got tweaked over the past months to get to this point of consinstency, it'll only be getting better as it nears it's launch. My bets are on a heart-nerf after the holidays, when the dev processed all the gameplay data.

Then explain why lots of people can consistently win... on high Acensions?

Meh, I don't know why I try... you've already deleted a great game based on your own lies.

because people quit the game before they are about to loose (like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NadwjUoj_CQ) and try again? If they would remove that feature from the game that you can save and quit during a battle much more people would not've made it.

The game is only "It's too much RNG" if you make the mistake of picking up a card every chance you get and not getting rid of cards you don't need every chance you get.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say that the game allowing you to trim your deck down to only a handful of cards makes it not impacted by RNG enough.

From majority of the streamers with high win percentages, they do quit and repeat battles a lot. Basically, they are getting rid of the RNG aspect and suddenly the game becomes much more about skill and knowledge.

I have a problem with the ironclad class specifically. From another rant (today): Big issue I have with the ironclad in general is that this class seems much more luck dependent than the other two. Most games I've never seen the barricade card. No barricade, no defense build. Most games I don't see the demon form card. No demon form, no strength based build. I don't see getting to the final boss without one of those two cards, and I don't usually get them. They're rare? That's great. So an ironclad win is also rare. I've had no problems winning with the other two classes in my ~120 hours.

It's a rogue-like. Sometimes you're the hammer, sometimes you're the nail. You have to make the choices that give you the best chance at being the hammer.

If you don't like RNG you're not playing the right game. Holy loly though, when the RNG goes your way you can get some absolutely ridiculous combos. As the Silent, I got the strange spoon that made exhaust a 50% chance. Load deck up with adrenaline, shiv producers, shiv buff stuff, and whatever that thing is that gives you +1 strength every 3 attacks played in a turn and damn.

Anyway a wise rome total war loading screen once said that luck is the residue of design. Sooooo, get designing!
