Playing on two computers
Hi, I play the game on two different computers, I beat ascension 1 in computer A, but the data doesn't sync to computer B, how do I force B to sync from A?

I would like to know this too, I just beat the last boss with Ironclad for the first time last night using my laptop, and I have now turned on my PC and expected my progress to be synced across, but it's not.

Now I'm scared to play on my PC in case I lose my win if it overwrites the old cloud save.

Devs, what gives?

I play the game on my laptop and my PC, and they both sync all the progress, including ascensions. I suggest you guys check out if you have cloud saves and sync enabled on both computers. Or give the game some time after it's closed to actually sync the data. Or don't use beta branch on one and normal on another, I am sure this is a problem on your guys side.

Haven't gotten much reports of cloud sync issues since we switched auto-cloud but the number of people running into these issues is a bit concerning. Will take a look!

For those who want to save or export their data manually, in the Slay the Spire game directory found in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire

  • The "preferences" folder (betaPreferences for beta branch) has your progress and game settings data. These folders are configured to sync via Steam Cloud.
  • The "saves" folder contains your current run (if any). This folder is configured to sync via Steam Cloud.
  • The "runs" folder has your run history. This isn't configured to sync as some players may hit the max file limit if they play too much.

Hopefully, I can identify and fix the issue! If anybody experiences this issue, I would be grateful if they also posted which operating systems (including versions) they are syncing to and from.

Any update on this? The manual fix worked for me but I would prefer not to do it every time I play on my laptop. FYI I played on a mac laptop and my ascension progress did not come back to my PC

Any update? I have nearly 2500 hours in the game and would prefer to not dig out my old M.2

The cloud save icon right to the play button says if it's up to date or not. If it is, you're fine.

This is incorrect. I have 2,494 hours played, Cloud Status is "Up to date", and in-game profile (I've only ever had one) has 255 hours played, and is missing years of run history.

Run histories are stored local only. Progress (ascension level, card/relic unlocks) is shared between devices via cloud save.

This is also not correct. Ascension level, card, and relic unlocks are not complete on my profile on the second PC. Defect wasn't even unlocked.

Then something is wrong with your saves. I played with a new profile (0%) on my PC, then started the game on my laptop. I have the unlocks including Silent.

Edit: Maybe your profiles have different names?

Bumping this thread as I am also having similar issues. Main computer isn't getting an updated save from my laptop, but both have cloud save on.

My issue is further complicated by multiple steam accounts being logged into on the same Windows User Profile. Any chance the dev can investigate supporting multiple users' save files on the same Windows Profile?

I have the same issue. Just lost a win and 13 hours of gameplay by playing on my mac while in vacation. When I was back I started the game on my desktop, it said that the cloud was synced but it showed 13 hours less and now the mac also is showing 13 hours less.:steamsad:

Same error on logged time between SteamDeck and Mac laptop. I thougt run history would be saved. So i understand now the differences between runs number between the 2 devices.

+1 on this issue. Steam thinks everything's cloud synced but I just lost a few days of progress. This was across different platforms, FWIW - Windows and MacOS.
