damn.... that actually looks BETTER than the current PC STS!
I even like their graphical assets better, sure, they are pretty mediocre, but Slay the Spire is actively, deliberately ugly.
That's unfortunate ;-( The reason I would notice StS in the first place is its artistic style. I think its cute, unique and intriguing.
They dident rename everything, and they did a 1 to 1 copy of the intelectual property. Its takes a lot of time to develop a good set of cards and the synergy they use. They just stole all that form sts.
I bet sts devs would have a good case to file with Google Play.

Your post needs a nice big "IMHO" at the end of it.
Dear sir, any contributions to discussion forums like this contain solely subjective opinions and assessments of the individual contributors, so it's a waste of time and space to write IMHO everywhere. If you are incapable of understanding and accepting this simple fact, perhaps you should not be roaming the wild interwebs alone, unsupervised.
To clarify the many misconceptions of this thread - I was actually beta testing an indie game from the Space Hulk universe when the Cease and Desist letter arrived from the Games Workshop, so I know exactly what they did to avoid any potential problems with the law. They renamed everything - Space Marines became Astro Troopers, Gene Stealers became generic Aliens, etc., they remade all the sprites that were recognizable as elements of the Warhammer universe... and they did not touch the rules and game mechanics at all. And it was enough.
The thing is, Intellectual Property does not automatically protect everything your brain spews out via some form of output. It protects unique artistic expressions - that means songs, melodies, pictures, sprites, game visual art, etc. , it protects new GMO plants, it protects industrial designs that are not purely utilitarian, and it protects patents, trade secrets, trade marks, etc.
It DOES NOT, however, protect information itself by default, so if you create a ruleset for a game, or recipe for a bread, and unless you register it as a patent or trade secret, you are not protected. That's why there are so many clones of games like Civilization, Colonization, Master of Orion, Transport Tycoon, etc, that play exactly like the originals, but don't contain any original code, graphics nor sound, and they are allowed to exist - because game mechanics and rulesets are NOT protected by copyright law.
If in doubt, consult your lawyers.
