Mod the Spire and achievements?

Is there a way to run Mod the Spire and still unlock achievements? I really like the colored map mod but I can't figure out how to run the mod program while still connected to Steam. I'm also concerned any ascension progress won't carry over to the vanilla game. I know some people don't really care about achievement hunting but I really like it and would appreciate any tips to making this work thanks

Ok Discord was super helpful, turns out it's pretty easy but apparently you will need to do this for each update. Thought I would post the solution here in case anyone searches this later (I hate when people find a solution then never return to post it)

Rename desktop-1.0 to SlayTheSpire.jar
Get ModTheSpire.jar (not sh or bat)
Name it desktop-1.0.jar
Run sts from steam

Achieve's should not be available while playing with mods, it's just way too abusable to trivialise getting them with mods.

Colored Map and Always Whale should be part of the game imo, those are the only ones I use

Why? who cares if someone cheats for achievements with mods? It doesn't affect anyone else, so why not let people do whats fun to them? its a game after all.

Depends on the achievement id say, and the type of community. I would understand if this was multi with wanting to brag but in truth you dont need mods to unlock achievments there is already SAM.

So even if mods disable achievements people who want wil still get them with out earning truely atleast this way they can earn them and not use a crummy 3rd party "cheat".

implying unlocking achievements with mods isn't cheating, it is the same as using the manager

why would anyone possibly care even the tiniest bit if someone doesnt 'earn' an achiement?

only reason to have an option for achievments not to trigger with mods is so people who care about getting all the achievments dont spoil themselves, other then that who gives a ♥♥♥♥.

No longer works with the Workshop update AFAIK. Unless I'm doing it wrong.

Kinda wanted to mod the game to play the Slime class and each achievements like Purity or Common Sense while using it. Oh well. :/

this thread is kinda obsolete now. just click the option "play with mods" when launching the game and you can still get achievements afaik

Assuming that you meant that modded Slay the Spire triggers achievements without changing the executable names, getting achievements with Mod the Spire didn't work for me. I fought and beat the Act 2 boss without taking any damage that penetrated my shields (thus meeting the requirements for the Perfect feat) while playing as the Defect; the mods I had running at the time were Colored Map, Highlight Path, and Unceasing Turn Reminder. I did not earn the achievement in the modded run.
