Since the inclusion of the event where you can save a card for later and get it in a different run by swapping out a card, I've realized that there's only a limited number of cards you can use or you'll end up getting little value. I recently took Ball Lighting out as the Ironclad and immediately realized he doesn't have any orb slots, turning it into an underpowered card (though still decent-ish) because it doesn't channel a Lightning orb for him (even to just immediately evoke it because of the lack of orb slots).

I was wondering, could there be an option in Custom runs to include class-specific stuff besides cards? Giving orb slots (or even just one) to Ironclad and The Silent (or perhaps just changing the number of orb slots for any character in the run, from 0 to 10), allowing character-specific relics into the relic pool, that sort of thing.

As for normal runs, it would be nice if other characters could gain orb slots somehow. Maybe an event relic, like a Disfigured Shape (name WIP) that gives 1 orb slot and a random Defect card that grants 1 orb regardless of upgrade (such as Coolheaded, Ball Lightning, Zap, etc). If you're the Defect and get it, it's an orb slot (which are in short supply since Fission was changed) and a hopefully decent card. If you're not the Defect, it gives you a little passive thing and an occasional evoke, and maybe it would let you access certain Defect cards and relics.

Other cross-class event relics like that could be cool, like a relic from the Silent called Broken Vial (name WIP) that applies a few Poison to all enemies every time you play 3 attacks in a turn, or a relic from the Ironclad called Burned Shield (name WIP) that gives you 3 block each time every enemy in a combat is hit by an attack once (done with multiple attacks or just one like Cleave), or stuff like that. Just a little extra stuff to discover from other runs of the Spire, you know?

Don't Chad n Silent have one invisible orb slot by default, or is that only a thing if you enable the modifier that adds blue cards to the pool?

As far as I'm aware, that's specifically for Daily Runs...unless I'm remembering wrong? I'll do a quick test of the custom mode with Defect cards in the run.

EDIT: Yes, Ironclad and Defect get an orb slot when the Defect's cards are enabled. However, that doesn't seem to happen if you get a card from the Defect mid-run using the card swapping event. It may be just an odd case.
Regardless, having a way to get another character's "thing" (one of their themes) like getting orb slots in a normal run would be cool

I am all for a single, invisible orb slot, regardless of mode.
Doesn't seem to hurt balance really, too - just adds fun and diversity. And those are good things.
