How many attempts do you need to beat e.g. ascension 6?
I needed 39 attempts and many many hours on ascension 6 to beat it for the first time (with the Silent). Is this "normal" or am I just bad at this game? :) I already played about 16 times on ascension 7 and often I don't even reach the first boss. I am asking because it starts to get frustrating when you sometimes can't even beat the first enemies without loosing health.

You're probably lacking in the fundamentals department and / or the aspect of playing against the game rather than building your deck in a vacuum. Time to watch others play the game methinks.

Dw tho, half the people who own this game (give or take) never beat all 3 final bosses at A0.

Quite normal, but it doesn`t mean you aren`t bad.
Game`s rather difficult without some "fundamentals", so don`t stress it too much...

or you could learn from some good Streamer, like my esteemed colleague up here suggested. Once you get the hang of it, it`s quite satisfying breezing through content that previously kicked your butt:superhero:

I watch Jolnrbs. Sometimes i get curious and watch jrm1ah videos but he says 'Poggers' an awful lot and shows his dog which isnt so useful, some of his runs are really interesting though.
Sampstra has some really nice guides on how each individual boss works, her tips on Automaton really helped me out.

Ascension 6 is a pretty low ascension to get stuck on. Though sometimes a run was doomed to fail when you hit play. Once I got a Body Slam first encounter and I thought "I'll make a defensive deck. It'll be fun. I'll pick up high value D and with a little luck it'll be a win." Got all the way to the first boss and my only block cards were the four defends I started out with. I'm not sure I could survive the second floor with only basic defends to protect me. Not unless I had an FTK deck. Try not to get disheartened by a loss. I don't know if it's normal to be stuck for so long but that would depend on average user experience. As for silent strategies I'm not too familiar. Building to a synergy is obvious advice but more than that you gotta build a means to defeat your foes. Brushing up on the basics could be a good idea too. Good luck in your endeavors.

This game's skill ceiling is pretty high. The thing is that it becomes much harder to improve after you've become decent. Things get rather subtle or abstract that you'll have a hard time figuring it out on your own. So just do more watching better people play!

LMAO I still haven't beat A1. Halfway through the run I get bored of avoiding fights and start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with Elites and I get creamed

The funny thing is, that I can't stop playing this game. :) I try and fail and get a little angry but anyway I need to try again and again. lol

Thank you! This motivates me! :)

But how many attempts do you roughly need to beat higher ascension levels? That would really interest me.

Game is indeed fun. I think I enjoyed it at lower ascensions much more than higher ones. As for how many attempts on each ascension, from my personal experience, usually not more than four attempts. Low Ascensions were pretty much back to back wins. High ascensions less so. If I had to try and atrribute odds to a victory at high ascension it was probably around like 40% chance of success based on win rate but I can't be certain on that. First significant slowdown was at around 17. Despite the stall at 17 I was lucky enough to have near back to back wins up until reaching 20. I did notice the wins were by small margins at certain points too so was just pretty lucky in general. Literally beat Time Eater because I had Kunai. That may have been my 17 or 18 victory. As for character I played Iron Clad for most of my runs on Ascension. Hope it helps.
