Normality is too potent
Of all the curses, this is structurally the one that ends most of my runs. Make it 4 a turn, or 2 more after drawing it, or something, but nerf the nerf, please. regret is painful, pain is painful but those are good curses imo, decay is not powerful enough, and shame and doubt are situational, but normality is always a killer. You can't even use it in a curse strategy playthrough.

I think the problem is that most curses trigger at the end of your turn or just fill up your hand, but normality is an instant c-c-c-combo breaker.

*hasn't owned a normality in probably 300 hours*

I guess this is relevant for endless mode which I don't play.

I think I saw a Normality once. Honestly a lot of this game I haven't seen. Countless relics never to be used and oddly specific card combos that seem impossible to manifest. I think for the play cards achievement I tried to do dropkick infinite and it took so many runs to find even one dropkick. And I've never gotten an Evolve with stuff like Power Through or Wild Strike/Reckless Charge. Actually I haven't seen Reckless Charge in maybe the last 10 runs. Kinda unbelievable that OP got a Normality somehow.

I'm surprised, I've gotten normality like, a lot. Usually even if I I'm running a curse deck, I'll try to get rid of it at the earliest opportunity. Maybe it's because I'm less risk averse to taking curses in my decks?
Zu 25/set./2018 às 13:58
I mean, I've never taken the curse blessing. Otherwise you randomly get it from opening chests with cursed key, the memory game, roulette, or from that one act 3 event (where the top 2 options are usually just better), or am I missing something?
Ackranome 25/set./2018 às 18:15
Don't take curse bets?
teekay15 25/set./2018 às 20:19
If you want to take curse bets and there isnt a shop nearby...you knew the risk and you screwed yourself.

You can get Normality from the Roulette? I literally always got a Decay, can't remember of getting anything else.
I also never take a curse from Neow, it's just too punishing. Especially for removing or transforming 2 cards. Yay, I can get rid of 2 Strikes/Defends, but end up with a worse card added.

Curses are supposed to be quite annoying. If they aren't then they are defeating their own purposes.
JFSOCC 27/set./2018 às 2:28
there is a difference between annoying and game breaking. normality is the latter imo
screeg 27/set./2018 às 8:52
Does it say somewhere curses are all supposed to be equally inconvenient?

There's nothing game breaking or wrong with Normality. ♥♥♥♥, I'm living it every day!
AshtinPeaks 27/set./2018 às 8:57
It punishes you for taking normality in the first place. It was your choice if you wanted the curse, even if you are taking a gamble on a random curse. If you can't afford to remove curse then don't take it. I actually have had one in my deck and one, though it was high cost deck (I went for 999 gold)
Eagle_of_Fire 27/set./2018 às 10:55
There is nothing game breaking in Normality. And you can easily both avoid it and get rid of it easily too.
I agree that normality is a poor design. Compare it to pain which punishes high play decks by dealing damage to the player - Normality punishes most players regardless of deck style. I never do a curse that gives normality because it is so limiting (regardless of class / deck).

I think the card should be redesigned to have a similar but less restricting effect. I think something like shame where it imposes a next turn effect like "draw 1-2 less cards next turn" (like that boss debuff that reduces your draw by 1). Another idea is "after playing 3 cards, cards cost an additional 1 energy to play".

A few other ideas/alernatives (or new curses for that matter):
1. current or next turn, cards cost 1 more energy to play
2. if you play more than 3 cards this turn, next turn draw 1 less card
3. take 2hp damage for every card played after 3 cards
4. if you play an attack/skill/power this turn, next turn you cannot play an attack/skill/power (respectively)
5. this turn, max energy is limited to 3 (if over 3) and initial card draw is limited to 5 (if over 5)
JFSOCC 29/set./2018 às 12:54
Yes, ...♥♥♥♥ Goblin, this is what I mean. I don't mean for normality to become a laughable thing, but it does need a redesign. Following your list, another suggestion might be "next turn, you can play no more than 3 cards"
This way, it is at least telegraphed to the player, and discard or exhaust strategies that are locked if you draw into it might work like they would on any other curse.
