Cultist Mask from event

Here is my question because I am curious about how it works. Face Trader event tells you its 50% of getting good mask/ 50% chance of getting bad mask. Cultist mask is completely neutral since it has no effect on run. What is the chance of getting it since its not bad neither its good?

Without looking at the code to see if any of the masks are weighted to be more likely, I'd guess 1/6. There are 6 masks, 3 'good' 3 'bad'. Knowing this, it doesn't matter what type the Cultist Mask is, the chance of getting any mask is 1 in 6.

That said, the RNG could be weighted so that some masks are more likely than others.

It's clearly a good mask since it allows you to cosplay as your favorite deity.

Tbh guessing it removes the chosen and cultists from the encounter pool. Prove me wrong pls.

I watch Northernlion's let's plays and in one episode he had fight with 3 cultists with this mask. I remember it because he made joke "I showed you my CAW, pls respond", but don't remember which it was. I can look it up but I hope you just believe me.

I think Dusk_Army means that Cultist mask is in both good and bad pools. The image doesnt matter since it show some masks that are not in the game and its most likely just visual (even though I would love if they would add more masks).

Actually, I just made a mistaken assumption. Whoops.

That being said, you could be right that it's in both pools, which, in this case, means you're more likely to get it, since that would mean that there are 2 'bad' masks, 2 'good' masks, and the Cultist Mask twice (ends up being a 1 in 3 chance). But if it isn't in both pools, then the chance of getting it would be... let's see if I remember my probability math correctly here... 1 in 6 I think? Because in that case, one of the two groups (good or bad) has two items in it, and the other has three (including the Cultist Mask). Which means you will get the Cultist Mask 1 in every 3 times when that group is chosen, and that goup is chosen 1 in every 2 times, so the Cultist Mask would come up one third of half the time. So if you roll a 12 sided die and take one of the masks based on the number, it would look like this:

(Group 1: 1)1,2 (Group 1: 2)3,4 (Group 1: 3/Cultist Mask)5,6 (Group 2: 1)7,8,9 (Group 2: 2)10,11,12

So yeah, it's either one third of the time, or one sixth of the time depending.

Yeah, I missed that it would be 1 in 3 not 1 in 6 then. Thanks for your answer, I got face trader event 3 times and got 3 different masks but not cultist one yet so this question kind of pop-up in my brain.

40% chance for good mask
40% chance for bad mask
20% chance for BEST mask

as a side note, if you play endless mode you can get all the masks eventually..... It takes forever though.

Yeah, the Face Trader event seems to be really rare. Along with the Cursed Tomb and N'loth events, Face Trader is the one that I encounter the least.
