If they add some sort of reward I would probably find it more fun. It doesn't even have a unique text or prompt when you finish the 10th one.
I think the game is challenging enough as is.
When I first grabbed this game I was doing everything in my power to knock out all the Achievements ASAP and get my winrate as high as I possibly could, but that was only fun for so long. After I'd knocked out all the Achievements and played basically every deck archetype you can atm in 2-3 flavours each while tryharding I decided to let it go. This happened to me at about 60 hours in, before Ascension had been added.
Now when I boot up the game, I'll just play normal runs most of the time even though I haven't finished Ascension. I know I could... but why do it if it's just going to frustrate me? I give it a shot every third or fourth time I boot up the game to play so I'll get it done eventually anyway and I'm in no hurry. On top of that I will say with the buffs being done to creatures, elites and bosses in the base game paired with the addition of Ascension mode that the balance certainly isn't perfect in Ascension right now.
So to answer your question, I still find Ascension fun, so long as I only play it when I'm prepared to sometimes get my head cracked open and willing to accept that certain deck archetypes are a no go and bad RNG can definitely cause havoc on a run in far worse ways than the base game.
I'd also really like some sort of permanent progression of characters that's not just points. Maybe a tiny percentage increase in damage, health, or what have you.
Silent to 10 is enjoyable, and I've cleared 10 once before moving on to Ironclad.
Ironclad feels like a slog at 7, but then I don't enjoy that class nearly as much.
The game doesn't force you to start up your computer either, what's your point? Sure, you can completely ignore the game giving you things like Tinsgha, but why would you?
And there are plenty that you can force to work in the base difficulty that don't in Ascension. Why take the coin toss trying to build a Clash deck when the enemies deal more damage, you don't fully heal after the stage boss and you start with a curse?
I have beaten it with both characters, is there a special options or is that juat what people call starting over?
Basically you get to start over at Ascencion 2 when you win over the spire and the enemies get stronger. NG+ mean "New Game Plus".
I wouldn't "take the coin toss trying to build a Clash deck", just sometimes you get multiple Clashes and so that's the way my deck ends up. Other times I end up with something else. Lots of different ways all work, I can win very consistently at high Ascension levels with just taking whatever I get and building a deck around it. You don't have to limit yourself to some master plan, it's not even helpful to do that.
