First pick: Blur, Cloak&Dagger, or Backflip?
Let's say these are your 3 first choices. Which do you take, and why?

Each are cornerstones of an archerype: Blur is incredible in poison stall for "smoothing out" hand RNG. Backflip is great in spammy decks full of cheap cards since it refills your hand, and is decent in all sorts of combo decks. C&D is, of course, brillian in Shiv.

I *think* I'd go C&D since it seems the best value for mana (a bit of damage plus one more block than the others) and scales best with an upgrade. But I could be convinced into any of the others.

This is where my "idgaf" attitude kicks in and picks blur because so often was I denied a second one when I could've really used it.

Cloak and Dagger would be my pick for first card. All three are potentially very strong and at minimum tolerable in any deck, but this is the only one of the three that really improves the starter deck immediately.

C&D. It fits in a defensive deck, it fits in a Thousand Cuts deck, it fits in a shiv deck, it fits in Envenom decks, basically it just fits in well in every single deck. More so than the other two.

I think I'd take blur because unless I've managed to make some niche super powerful infinite turn deck, I want as many blurs as I can get.

Blur - Great

Backflip - Ok

C&D - Bad

C&D being able to block and deal damage with one card is really good on the first floor.

Backflip is a scary first choice because you want to target attack cards early, and it doesn't really offer enough oomph in an early deck to be happy about playing. Since it's common, I'd probably pass on it early and bank on it showing up later.

Blur is hard to pass up. It's uncommon, so you can't count on seeing it again, and it's just *so* hard to fill its niche with anything else.

Cloak and Dagger is almost always nice to have, but usually just that. "Nice". It's critical for a good shiv deck, but for any other deck you could really take it or leave it. It's also common, so you can usually gamble on it showing up later.

So I'd probably take Blur 9 times out of 10, basically just because it's uncommon and the other two are common, despite all three being great picks. The tenth time, if there was a Rest Site before an elite I was afraid to fight, an upgraded Cloak and Dagger goes a long way to help with that.

I'd probably go for blur myself. I really value being able to carry some block between turns, and even though the other two are pretty solid options I almost always want 2-3 blurs in a deck if I can swing it. Plus blur's a rare and the other two are common, IIRC.

Second place would probably be backflip. Card draw's nice and can help get key cards for whatever build.

Third place would be C&D. Still a really good card and probably the better first floor pick due to damage like Daemon said and it synergizes with a bunch of things like Ashcarr said, but I'm just a sucker for carrying block and card cycling.
