If you save an ethereal card it exhausts.
If for example, you use Well Laid Plans to save a Dazed card or Carnage, it will exhaust anyway. Is that intended?

Yes, because those cards are ethereal and exhaust at the end of your turn if left in your hand.

But they aren't in my hand, they are being retained and moved to the next hand.

I... don't understand your logic. They aren't "moved to the next hand", by retaining a card, it is kept in your hand.

This. Your hand is your hand. There is no "next hand" in this game.

Or any game, for that matter.

There's a Draw Pile, a Discard Pile, an Exhaust Pile, and your hand.
Some games combine the Discard and Exhaust piles. Some don't Discard your hand every turn. Some make it so running out of cards is a win-condition, but in many others its a loss. For all the differences between card games, a hand is always a hand, and that's that.

Yes they are, you are stopping them drom being discarded, not retaining them.

Still stinks a bit that that happens, But it does clearly say at 'end of turn'. If it said 'exhausts if put in discard pile' Then thats when you could retain it.
