I just got killed by Unceasing Top?
People keep rating this relic as some kind of heaven sent relic, but I've never found it useful.

Today I got it really early, like before the first rung of chests in map 1 and I still thought I must be having a lucky run, because everyone keeps talking about how great this relic is. But then it kills me on Hexaghost.

I've no idea if this is by design or by oversight, but with Hexaghost, unless you've already got a very quick hand by that point, you usually end up with 5 or 6 burns shuffled into your deck. So a hand might consist of 2 strikes a defend and 2 burn cards etc. So the player has little choice of what to play, throw up the defend and the two strikes and click end-turn. But then the Burns go off automatically...

... and the Spinning Top then thinks you have no cards left and draws a card.

Resulting in me zooming into loads more burn cards quicker while my decent cards also zoom past quicker... but when I've run out of energy after pressing end turn.

I thought I had him done and dusted, only 20 hp left. Even my unupgraded Whirlwind would finish him off on its own, let alone an Uppercut+ and a strike or just 3 strikes. But then all of all sudden, whoosh, zoom, bash, I watch all my nice cards zoom by at the end of my turn and watch as burn after burn completely wrecks me.

And this has been my usual experience with Unceasing Top, just frustration and death. For me, it's one of those relics that makes me want to quit and reload, LOL.

Part of the problem may be not understanding what cards actually work with unceasing top. Think anger, clash, body slam+. 0 cost cards that can come and go from your hand.

I do agree though, end of turn status cards triggering top is a pain. Maybe even a bug? They did fix end of turn curses from triggering time eater count, so maybe they will fix this.

Wait so you're basically saying that Unceasing top went through each burn card even though It's only supposed to use 1?
Definitely has to be a form of bug. End turn is supposed to stop too many card drawings. (Except for 1 draw, due to like, combust and anything similar.)

The problem is if a status card like burn is left in your hand, it will play, draw the next burn, and play it. Last time I had it happen to me it stopped at the second one. Doesn't continue indefinitely.

I don't think this should happen. I think it should go:

The turn ends.
The status card plays.
Your hand is empty, so Unceasing Top triggers.
A card is drawn.
It is now the enemy's turn.

The status cards that trigger at the end of your turn should be played when you click the End Turn button. Any card you aquire after clicking the End Turn button that plays at the end of your turn should not trigger until you next click the End Turn button whith them in your hand (same thing with Ethereal cards).

True.

It currently goes
- select end turn
- trigger end turn effects
- trigger effects triggered by end turn effects
- end turn

Would feel better as
- select
- trigger
- end turn
- secondary triggers

Indeed.

I just got my revenge in the next run. 885 points. Mwhahaha. If I'd dared to take on one more elite during beyond instead of dodging to a fireplace and if I'd been just 2 minutes and a few seconds quicker overall I'd have beaten my high score by a point! Gah! The margins! One shotting The Awakened One's second form first turn is always soooo satisfying though.

I'm aware of how to use Unceasing Top, I just never have that kind of deck going when I get it nor the patience to find out if I can make it work when I get it early, because it's usually freakin' Hexaghost at the top of my draw anyway.

I moaned about the Runic Cube the other day and someone chirped in that it's one of the best draw relics, but I have exactly the same issues with that relic, the draws always come between my turn ending and me having my turn again, any resulting draws just skipping past laughing at me.

I'm aware that you can "build for them", but for all other decks they're just effing frustrating. I could have sworn there's another Relic which draws cards when you take damage, and those cards carry over to the next turn, they don't just fire off into the discard pile between turns.

So I'm confused how it's ok for some relics but not others.

Storm of Steel, Fiend Fire, and every energy generation (Seeing red, Concentrate) have obvious synergy with it.

Please refrain from diverting the conversation into a "what works with Unceasing Top" discussion, I'm sure there are lot of those around already and this topic is about something more specific regarding how the relic functions with Burns.
