Hyperbeam Builds. Are they viable?
I recently won a run using hyperbeam as my win condition and not using any of those pesky orbs at all. It wasn't ascension but it seems extendable anyhow. Do you think it's consistent enough to compose itself as an archetype?

The win I had got necronomicon. So, each first play as a 2 energy 64 (96 while vulnerable) damage, kind of insane. Then, it used a ton of deck manipulation (3 rebounds, a seek, a reboot, and a hologram) to get it out faster. Which, when placed with two turbos provided the needed energy.

So, here's my proposal:

Hyper beam archetype:

The primary needs of this archetype is getting hyperbeam out as many times a turn as possible. Things you need:

1) Deck manipulation: Seek, reboot, rebound, reprogram, skim, hologram, maybe steam power with recycle to mitigate? Recycle could definitely be posed as useful as it's a way to trim your deck dynamically while gaining energy.

2) Energy manipulation: TURBO, energy relics, probably could figure out ways to utilize plasma but you need to generate orbs quickly with few cards. Maybe the plasma generating card. Maybe rainbow + flux capacitor to get 4 with only having one eventual dead draw (rainbow)

3) Vulnerability. Increasing your damage is crucial. So, that 0 energy 2 vulnerable card would be handy. With mass vulnerable, you get 48 damage to all enemies. Kind of huge.

4) Mitigation/powers. Auto shields is probably the most effective block card for the cost? Buffer also provides fantastic safety. Echoform is just broken as always. I can't think of any other relevant powers?

5) Relics. Bag of marbles. Anything that gives energy. Necronomicon! General always good relics (thread and needle, and what have you). Snecko eye probably wouldn't work well since so many of the good deck manipulation cards are cheap.

6) And, obviously, hyperbeam. You kind of need that for a hyperbeam build ha.

The basic goal is to get hyperbeam out every turn, preferably 2 or 3 times.

Thoughts? Mostly theory crafting here.

It is viable, I won middle ascension (8) with it. streamers go for it occasionally as well. also very good with snecko eye and hologram

I'll edit the post to include hologram. Can't believe I forgot that one when hologram + reprogramming is literally pulling 6 cards out of your deck to grab one.
