Slay the Spire
Ok so about the chosen and his hex in relation to the Defect...
Ok, the chosen is pretty easy on ironclad, moderate on silent depending on build.
But on the new robot character[Defect], whos main effect [Orbs] relies on almost nothing but skills not to mention pretty much every single synergy other than gash requires SKILLS.
Orbs, skills. What seems like half the damage types in all builds, Skills. Survival? Skills.
100% of the fun and unique fun of the character? S K I L L S
Listen, I HATE people who ranted about the chosen before, but honestly, this is just stupid, even if just make the chosen an elite encounter with suppourt for just the defect, something needs to happen.
Sorry for the rant but tbh, people are gonna rant about it soon anyways, but you cant survive as most defect builds when you can easily find 2-4 chosen per floor 2

I think enemies are tailored so that there is always one that counterplays some decks. That makes sense elseway it would be too easy.. I mostly go with more offensive ones so the chosen isn't usually a big problem. He does do a crazy amount of damage though if you drag the game just a little too long.

I actually found chosen easier because of his orbs
in fact the defect's gimmicks felt more like a hard counter then anything else

Indeed.

They should get rid of the Chosen's ability to make you vulnerable. The Chosen already has evey other conceivable advantage, but they're still like "And also he can make everything suck EVEN MORE! Get good!"

I'd rather they remove the strength gain on his weak application. The Vulnerable would be a much larger change, and also remove something from his rotation, so it'd just be Weak+Str/Hit as his 2 options once you're hexed.

Edit: If they were to change anything. I think s/he's fine as is.

Not to disgree with any nerf ideas, but a simple solution for the Chosen is to utilize the wealth of card draw abilities (and Reprogram) and high block that the Defect has. I know that this demand can hamper other deck-building decisions, but since block and card draw are so plentiful for the defect, I see this as another reasonable base you should cover.

I also disagree on the necessity of an nerfs to Chosen.

The Chosen is totally a man. Look at that excellent jawline.

Chosen probably needs -8 base damage and -30 HP from what it has

An enemy based around filling your deck with garbage shouldn't be hitting for thirty on normals.

But hey I'm not a game designer. If I was I would put a common enemy that just had a thousand HP and swung for 100 damage and it'd just be a big middle finger called YOU LOSE and it'd spawn in the first area. Which I feel is very fitting this game's design ethos because I have to watch my friend play this game and have a really awful time all night every night or they threaten to kill themselves, and I think every player should have the same experience so they can really appreciate the good game design.

I'd also put in a boss relic that hits you with ten turns of Weak, Vulnerable, and Frail every battle just in case you thought you'd be cute and gamble on the boss relic gift.

An artifact potion?

I wouldn't mind a small HP nerf on the chosen to make it feel like less of a drag.

If something was to be done to her, slight initial damage nerf would suffice, as her damage scales anyway.

But, as said, I do not think she needs a rework.

I agree with this I think most people have all those troubles because everyone tends to turtle up and play safe and the chosen is one of the few enemies that counters that. It just forces you to widen the utilities of your deck which I think is the most interesting part of this game.

"Widen the utilities of your deck" means "Don't play as the Silent."

Dunno what to say man I play mostly silent and I'm not even really good but the chosen has never been that much trouble to me. Annoying, sure. But at least he brings some challenge
