Unfortunate Events I'm not sure about, since I don't remember exactly, but I'm sure it has something to do with either there being less events, or events have a larger chance of being "bad" events than "good" events.
Events generally go more poorly overall. If an event gives you gold, it probably gives you less gold. If it heals you, it probably heals you less. If it damages you, it probably damages you more. If there's a % chance for something to happen, the % will be changed to be worse for you (aka, the Event with a relic that has a 50% chance to curse you is like 75% chance to curse on A15).
