Or a Dead Branch + Fiendfire(or any Exhaust card) build?
Or perhaps a Necronomicon + Bludgeon/Whirlwind build?
Or even Blue Candle + DuVu Doll?
Silent is streamed more because it's simply more interesting to watch and there are more ways to play
that is a strength build deck that didn't need a reaper... of course, I wasnt playing ascension, but it was still a fine deck.
edit, but I do have a worse record on ironclad, so...
On top of all that I just think he's not fun to play as...
The Silent on the other hand has poison, draw out the ass, better energy management etc.

Here's just the final 2:30 of a hilarious Searing Blow run.

There's all kinds of different strategies with ironclad. He's MUCH easier than silent, due to the +hp after every fight.

this is what i did when i won with ironclad. it was a very heavy deck. what i did was Perfect Strike+Heavy Blade and Strength modifiers. I basically was able to burst things down. It also helped that my last boss was Time Eater. I could have asked for a better one with my low card play only needing to play my high burst and defense cards really.
Heck the most recent game I played, I got Dual Tap from Neow, picked up a Singing Bowl and Uppercut, then got Bludgeon and Snecko Eye from the first boss. Ended the run with only 12 cards in my deck. Was surprisingly effective, though there were a few scary turns where I had to take a pile of damage because Snecko felt like I should have an "all cards cost 2-3 energy" turn. Picking up an Impervious helped ameloriate Snecko RNG, and Clothesline was also nice. It was weird because my deck was full of cards that under normal cases I'd consider suboptimal, but being able to Dual Tap+ into an Upper Cut+ and Bludgeon+ is hilarious.

Though, not having access to certain cards can make it a bit hard, it also makes it easier as there are less potential cards to clutter your deck with. Limit Break upgraded is how you can easily win.
Edit: with RNG as it is, guides do not work.
Also, Reaper is a bad card if you don't have a way to reliablly get more than 4 str. Barricade is also a difficult card to use. They're not bad cards, but you shouldn't be picking them often.
The funnest way to win is Perf Strike with Double Tap and Necronomicon.
And you can work the wound cards in anything once you get Evolve.

Haven't won a single time with 3 energy deck, except broken stuff like DB+corruption or snecko
