How can anyone say Ironclad is easy?
I read this all over the forums - but really?

I can make this work only with Barricade (Block build) or Reaper (Strength build). Both of them are golden card which I dont get in wast majority of my runs - I have tried pretty much everything from the cards which are generally available - Ironclad always dies to not being able to sustain.

I know it is RNG but it is not fun at all - I have like 0/25 winrate without these card with Ironclad and it simply always run out of steam either on the second boss or close to the third.

Silent is so much easier to make it work as you can always revert to some block build for which is easy to build as you dont need golden cards to make it work - and is so much more fun cause the decks are not chore to play.

I know I will get flamed but the game is not fun at all as Ironclad - what are the synergies people are talking about which are apparently everywhere? I am unable to make anything work at all - did anyone beaten the game without Barricade or Reaper? How? Can anyone please tell me?

I have all unlocks on him but nothing helps.

BTW why are all streamers straming only Silent, hmm?

Have you tried Blue Candle + Necronomicon + Rupture + Blood4Blood build?

Or a Dead Branch + Fiendfire(or any Exhaust card) build?

Or perhaps a Necronomicon + Bludgeon/Whirlwind build?

Or even Blue Candle + DuVu Doll?

There's pretty much only the block build, the strength build, and the perfected strike massive deck build. I guess there's also the exhaust build but that is such a nightmare to set up properly.

Silent is streamed more because it's simply more interesting to watch and there are more ways to play

that is a strength build deck that didn't need a reaper... of course, I wasnt playing ascension, but it was still a fine deck.

edit, but I do have a worse record on ironclad, so...

Honestly I feel the iornclad is garbage and relies too much on good cards/relics to be viable. Plus he doesn’t have anything like poison to bypass high def. Minimal card draw mechanics and I think the expire effect cards are to niche or expensive to be practical in a long fight.
On top of all that I just think he's not fun to play as...
The Silent on the other hand has poison, draw out the ass, better energy management etc.

Here's a pretty standard full run of ironclad using neither barricade nor reaper.

Here's just the final 2:30 of a hilarious Searing Blow run.

There's all kinds of different strategies with ironclad. He's MUCH easier than silent, due to the +hp after every fight.

this is what i did when i won with ironclad. it was a very heavy deck. what i did was Perfect Strike+Heavy Blade and Strength modifiers. I basically was able to burst things down. It also helped that my last boss was Time Eater. I could have asked for a better one with my low card play only needing to play my high burst and defense cards really.

I've never played a Perfected Strike build outside of one failed attempt. I've only played a Barricade build once. I guess you could say that many of my successful runs are "strength" builds but there are so many ways to get strength and utilize strength I'd hardly call it a singular build. I had one aborted attempt to go with Demon Form, one successful run featuring Spot Weakness, and a lot featuring Flex and/or Inflame into Limit Break, though plenty of runs fielded Flex or Inflame on their own and worked out fine.

Heck the most recent game I played, I got Dual Tap from Neow, picked up a Singing Bowl and Uppercut, then got Bludgeon and Snecko Eye from the first boss. Ended the run with only 12 cards in my deck. Was surprisingly effective, though there were a few scary turns where I had to take a pile of damage because Snecko felt like I should have an "all cards cost 2-3 energy" turn. Picking up an Impervious helped ameloriate Snecko RNG, and Clothesline was also nice. It was weird because my deck was full of cards that under normal cases I'd consider suboptimal, but being able to Dual Tap+ into an Upper Cut+ and Bludgeon+ is hilarious.

Follow the guide, it helps alot:

Though, not having access to certain cards can make it a bit hard, it also makes it easier as there are less potential cards to clutter your deck with. Limit Break upgraded is how you can easily win.

Double Tap + Whirlwind is good, especially if you have Bag of Marbles, and as much energy as possible. Bonus- it can synergize with energy pots for emergency damage. I also regularly win with Iron Wave + Bodyslam builds after removing all my basic strikes. Makes you consistent in both defense and offense. Necronomicon obviously replaces Double Tap. I also win regularly with strength builds and Heavy Blade, however it's become less viable after Ascension 4.

YIKES Feb 23, 2018 @ 7:28pm
In my opinion, the anger-type deck, is way too weak. Atm it is just a nice card at the side, but with that relic allowing you to draw cards when your hand is empty + shredding your deck to a few cards, this could be really strong (almost op tbh). Sadly atm there are to many possibilitys against this to make it work properly...

Whoever says this game is easy is either way already into card games, or a mental case. Might finally hit 100 losses in a row since purchase soon! Can't see how to win at all..

Edit: with RNG as it is, guides do not work.

You're right. Ironclad is not easy. He is actually deceptively harder than the Silent. And that's why I love him.

Also, Reaper is a bad card if you don't have a way to reliablly get more than 4 str. Barricade is also a difficult card to use. They're not bad cards, but you shouldn't be picking them often.

The easiest and most consistent way to win is a block/body slam+ build. Barricade is optional

The funnest way to win is Perf Strike with Double Tap and Necronomicon.

And you can work the wound cards in anything once you get Evolve.

The funniest build is obviously Corruption + dead branch, come on.

No idea why its easy, im just bad i guess.

Haven't won a single time with 3 energy deck, except broken stuff like DB+corruption or snecko
