Does Sozu now mean absolutely no potion pickups?

After yesterdays patch, Sozu was changed from "Can no longer use potions" to "Can no longer obtain potions".
Now it makes sense that you can not obtain them from battles anymore. But what about shops?
Also if you have Alchemize in your deck, would it then be obsolete?

I guess it's consistant, and you cannot get any potion from any source.. if you can it's a bug probably.
atleast you don't feel bad about not wasting potions in boss fights

I would assume, that buying potions from shop will also be impossible. But a good point on Alchemize, it looks like it would go obsolete after picking up Sozu. I think that already having Alchemize in deck is one of the things you need to take into account while deciding on picking Sozu up ;)

You mean that after picking up Sozu all your potions are discarded? I thought that all your pots will be preserved and you can use them in combat but you can no longer obtain new ones. I haven't play the game after newest patch yet, so I do not know the exact mechanics here.

It says in patch notes that it's consistant with ectoplasm. Ectoplasm doesn't eat the gold in your possesion and you still can spend it - sozu works the same way with potions.

Yeah its a pretty huge buff to Sozu that I think makes it unquestionably the best +Energy relic outside specific deck archetypes. The most important use of potions is hoarding Dexterity/Strength for the final boss fight, and often times by the time I get Sozu I'm already sitting on 1 of each.

It would be interesting if there were relics that ate gold/potions, but for X amount of each you got X benefit, probably with a cap like the one you can use at camp to gain strength.

Slightly different topic, but does anyone know if Ecto (stop gaining gold) effects the gold stolen by thieves? Ie. If a thief steals 30 gold; at the end of battle, can you reclaim that 30 gold or does it disappear into the void and you permanently lose 30 gold?

Nope, the gold they take is gone. Which is lame as hell. Same with that betting event

I wish they would rework that fight a little. Make their attacks build up a buff, when they escape they take that amount of gold.

Slightly differenter topic, does Gold Idol work on the gold they take?
