It's definitely not RNG keeping you from winning. That could be the case for 5ish runs, but not more than that. Don't swaet it though. Experimenting and figuring out how to evaluate the cards are the fun part of the game.
EDIT: I'm guessing that what brings you down is not missing synergies, but stuffing too many cards into your decks. You can make large decks work, but when learning the game you should consider your deck "finished" at around 20 cards. Any more than 25 and you will be vulnerable to bad draws no matter how great your synergies are. That's for an inexperienced player, obviously. There are plenty ways to make large decks work. It's just more complex than making a tight one.
4th game as IronClad. Then next 20 hours as Silent not even once.
monsters diddent stand a chance. with 5 powers used of +5 armor end of turn
Around 13 hours with no win I started looking at advice and strategies because I just assumed I was terrible at it, I don't really play games that have anything to do with deck building. Turns out I was on the right track with card picks, which only added to my frustration that I still wasn't winning.
I realized that I kept trying to do high block builds with body slam, but again, another 8 hours of gameplay no wins, then I read someone talking about the Ironclad being the class that kills you before you can kill it, take the damage to output more damage. Then it clicked with me! A couple runs in I got some nice RNG with strength stacking cards and I FINALLY beat it!
Now I've had my first go with the Silent, I think she might actually be harder.. Hopefully it wont take another 25 hours to win with her too
With that said, very skilled and experienced players can definitely win atleast one of any 5 random games as the Silent. So you have something missing in your approach to the game.
Maybe you are not avoiding enough fights on the first floor. That floor as the Silent is good for dodging fights and getting a few upgraded cards and buying a thing or two from the merchant to figure out where you are going with your deck.
If a verified high skill player comes in here I'd listen to him over this advice I just presented, but you can start making more progress by dodging fights in act 1 and trying to figure out what the RNG is telling you to build deck-wise. And just always pick Footwork, Blur, and Cloak and Dagger.
Quite easy to reproduce and there will be fights where you leave with more hp than waht you started with.
The silent took me a bit longer but I did something simulare. toxic cloud and then stack armor=gg
I was shocked when the game just ended after the third boss, I figured I was still in the early game. RNG was really on my side for that run, I proceeded to fail 4 times in a row afterwards. Also I have no idea how I managed to beat the game with a strength build without even having heavy blade unlocked, it's so useful!
