What does this mean? (from the latest update notes)
Cheater score penalty reduced as it's there for informational purposes, not fun ruining.

What does this mean, please? They are reducing the penalty for people that cheat? I sure hope not.

TLDR: The Anti-Cheat system was causing people to lose progression when the Devs wanted it to warn people that Cheating Would result in being Banned from Leaderboards.

It is now working as intended. The penalty has not been reduced, it's just no longer Bugged to be worse than the Devs wanted it to be.

It is certainly starting to ruin MY fun knowing that the devs are pro cheaters...

It amaze me every single time how sad people are trying to justify cheating by saying this.
it doesn't destroy anyone's experience though? whats wrong with it?
If someone wants to play by different rules, fine by them and they will be removed from the leaderboards for fairness.

The more players STS has, the more content the devs will add.

As a person who never cheated in a game ever (I'm kind of religious that way), it amazes me how much some people care about other people playing a singleplayer game the way they enjoy it most.

Right, like modding GTA5 singleplayer or Skyrim for a cool vehicle/weapon, like it affects no one but my singleplayer experience.

I think the biggest point most anti-cheaters have with people cheating in singleplayer games, is that for them it feels like they're doing Devs injustice since they're not playing the game as Devs mean it to be played, especially if they use cheats for unlocks and stuff.

It makes it feel like those people who do cheat have totally missed the point of the game, which is to gain progress by actually playing the game and not cheating your way through it.

I mean, I'm not against cheating in singleplayer, as long as it doesn't affect the leaderboards, but I do think if you have to use cheats to progress, you absolutely missed the point of the game and this probably isn't a type of game you should be playing.

To all of you who try to justify cheating by saying this game is single player: it is not. The devs are adding a leaderboard since last patch and points matter.

By reducing that cheat protection to insignificance, the devs are promoting cheating. Not to say that cheating is a totally absurd thing to promote in the first place and should never have its place anywhere to begin with. Nobody will ever even come close to convince me it's something which should happen, whatever the circumstances.

Well, I sure hope the cheaters don't get onto the leaderboard. That will really lessen my interest in this game.

There are other ways to prevent cheaters from interfering with leaderboards. Like excluding their scores from the boards entirely instead of hindering their single player progression (which is the real issue that should have never happened, because it legitimately makes people's experience worse).

If we are going that way, I will argue that your desire to restrict single player cheats is a totally absurd thing to promote in the first place and should never have its place anywhere to begin with.

What's absurd is that you are trying to protect or validate cheating.

THAT is absurd. Really take one of the worst individual on Earth to do that.
