I wonder how long it be before I have to wade through complaints about hackers cheating on the scoreboard to get to people actually talking about the game.
Edit: Ok about 3 mins and I already found thread about people hacking the leaderboards.
The game should save after every turn regardless of leaderboards. I hate the feeling of being 1 turn away from dying and in the back of my mind knowing, i can retry this. I don't WANT to retry it, but that thought is still in the back of my mind. Adding leaderboards just encourages more. Being able to redo fights kind of goes against the spirit of a roguelike in my opinion.
What do you mean by this is why Neow exists?
Note that I'm not a fan of this, but it clearly demonstrates strategy the devs are trying to discourage.
Neow is the giant magic whale that gives you a starting bonus if you faced the first boss.
Anyhow, I kind of wish it auto-saved every turn. I know that's impractible... But I had to replay a rather long fight against time eater (with a cycle deck that didn't get enough decent offensive card rewards) when my power went out.
honestly, the temptation to quit and reload when i mess up in floor 3 is annoying enough to me that i've kind of lost interest in playing. i dont like quitting and reloading, but since i can with no punishment that temptation is there in the back of my mind. it just does not feel like a rogue-like since you can save scam the game.
My streak wouldn't be much more than 4 or 5 at a time if I wasn't "save and quit" cheating, and I expect it would be more fun for most players if this wasn't a thing.
