Cannot access settings - how to change or reset resolution?

When StS is set to full screen/resolution for my desktop - 3440 x 1440, and I switch to my laptop screen only, I cannot get to the settings or find out how to change resolution.

Does anyone know how to do that?

Not quite sure what you need here. The extra information makes it seem like you're looking for a general solution to Steam link wonkiness?

If all you're looking for is a one-time way to change the resolution back to something manageable, you can either delete or modify the info.displayconfig file in the STS directory. Deleting it will prompt the game to reconstruct it from default and autodetected values, and it's what the devs themselves recommend to solve several display issues. Of course, if it just autodetects 3440 x 1440 again, you might have to edit the file. Just use notepad or some random text editor.

Thanks. The game starts up in full screen but it is launching in the full resolution so my monitor only sees the upper left corner of the game window. When that happens, I cannot get to the settings in the game.

I went into the game folder and opened the configdisplay file in notepad changed the top 2 lines to my rez and then the forth line to true to make it fullscreen and it fixed my problem.
