Brimstone
Is hilarious, i love it. It's like having a permanent Demon Form, with the drawback of making enemies stronger too. I've played with it before, but never from the start until now. Got 100 gold from the Whale and picked up Brimstone on floor 3 or 4. It gives a new meaning to kill or be killed.
I tried going for the Transient achievement, but unlucky draws left him with some hp. Time Eater was an absolute joke. I think i would have had a solid chance against the heart, but i didn't pick up any of the keys. Most of the run was pretty scary, since i was severely lacking block cards. The game kept stuffing more attack cards down my throat when i really didn't need any. Corruption, Evolve, Exhume, Fiend Fire, Heavy Blade and Pummel did most of the heavy lifting. I had an Inflame and a Flex, but it would have been nice and totally unnecessary to have a Limit Break.
I'll definitely pick up Brimstone again next time.

i like it too, BUT, i found that vs the heart it was a disaster. the heart hit's 12 times per turn, giving him strength was rough. other than that, i found it to be great.

I feel like you definitely need some damage mitigation compared to your average Strength decks. Once got killed by the Byrds because of it :bbtcat:

Yeah my block cards were really poor. This was pretty much a full offense run. I had no Flame Barrier, no Impervious. I had a single Shrug it off, an Entrench, and the Anchor relic. Apparently it was enough to beat A6. The Pyramid relic and the relic that makes Elites lose hp at the start of combat also helped.

This is one of the things I can't imagine myself ever taking up even if I played for 10.000 hours.
Like, maybe if I had Prismatic Shard and bottled Seek, with Well-Laid plans and 3 upgraded apparitions, maybe a Wraith-form and Malaise on top?

Note that none of the cards I listed as good with brimstone is an Ironclad card.

I actually got the "common sense" achievement by getting brimstone and a couple of boomerang blades. On ascention 1 the relic can be fun to play with.

Right, forgot about that particular combo. I think that speaks more about C+DB's ability to carry any deck than the merits of Brimstone, though. : p
