sacrificing 24 max hp to become a vampire, worth it?
I just started an ironclad A2 and the game is pushing me cards to become a strength build. So sure, I'll bite, sounds cool. Then this event appeared, hadn't seen it before. It sounded interesting so i accepted. I'm just wondering if this will make my run generally easier or more difficult. I just entered act 2.

welp i already lost. Book of stabbing and a lack of defense cards didn't do me any favors. Still the concept of the event seems interesting, so I'd like to know for future runs.

Let us know how it goes

Never used it. Dont see any sence in that. Only if you have low hp atm

It's not a good metric, but I just don't take it if I'm already down to 3 strikes. Never been a fan of adding slightly better strikes to my deck just because you can cheese a full heal with them.

Sometimes they might save the run though, usually on chad who just feeds that max health back, or if you already have apparitions and chip damage is relevant for dodecahedron.

TL,DR:
Sustain on the go or your max health buffer for acts 3 and 4. Working out which is more important in your run is hard af but that's what it boils down to, besides inconsistency concerns of course.

Zu always saves me the time of typing an actual answer :lolslime:

I second that

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Technically, the heal value is a higher % of your max health once you lose the max HP (as opposed to your previous health value), but i don't know if that means much. Regardless, it scales decently in certain situations, and is just a waste of space and max HP in some others. Still better than a regular strike.

Vague, but i can't really form a strong opinion on what justifies enough taking it or passing up. I tend to take it for fun most of the time though, i can't say it has won me runs, but i don't feel like it has doomed them either. It's been useful occasionally.

Like a lot of things in this game, it's situational. If you feel your run needs some extra healing, then I wouldn't worry about losing max HP too much, but I wouldn't pick it up most of the time, especially if you've already got rid of your strikes. My advice is to just try it out, as I've found experimenting with cards often leads to synergies I didn't quite predict. Sometimes things work as planned, other times not so much. Then you start to build a foundation of knowledge for your next run, and winning becomes more consistent.

When putting a deck together, try to have an end goal in mind, and always ask yourself, "What's the win condition of my deck?" And when adding a card, always think about whether or not it's going to help you meet that win condition.

So if your deck is built around a combo, ask whether or not the new card is going to help with or hinder that combo. Sometimes life gain is great, other times you don't really need it and then it's a waste.

cool, thanks for the info guys. I'll probably just avoid it in the future then unless it really synchs with what i got. Losing that much max hp is kind of scary. I actually got the feed card this new run for the first time ever, so I've been trying to make use of that. So far i recovered the max hp i lost at the beginning for a relic, but that's about it. I'm gonna try to kill donu with it.

From memory, if you have blood vial you can offer that instead of losing a % of your max health.

Correct. In addition, I would lean much more towards it if you have the attack upgrading egg, since that upgrades all the bites to deal an addition damage, and more importantly, heal an additional hp (a 50% increase).

oh cool, thanks! i was aware of the attack card upgrading egg, but i had no idea about the blood vial. I'll keep it in mind.

In general, no, unless you have Molten Egg.

Even with Blood Vial it's not always a take if you've removed 2 or more Strikes already (which I usually do since offense is everywhere and defense isn't)

I'm the "ooh shiny" type. I pick up everything i like and usually keep the crap i already have (except curses). Not always a viable way of playing, but i kinda enjoy it. The smallest deck i have been victorious with so far was 36 cards with an Ironclad

0.0

Well the bigger your deck the worse that event is because you draw Bites less
zoutzakje Jul 9, 2019 @ 1:10pm
well, i intend to try to pick up less and remove more so that i can focus on something specific. Just haven't been very successful so far.
