You don't play with skills. You add strong/decent attacks into your deck before you fight him, then you play little to no skills. Just on turn 1, or if you're sure he's dead the next turn and you can save HP this turn, for example. Otherwise you just attack as much as possible and hope he dies before you do.

It's a pure DPS race. That means you need to get strong attacks in your deck. You can also set up on the first turn if you're Silent or Defect since he only enrages on the 2nd.

Or if you are like me and can't understand a word of Japanese: Tora! Tora! Tora! ("Tiger, tiger, tiger!"), which I am told is colloquial for a series of lightning attacks. Although not literal lightning, since you probably need something stronger than that.
A major theme of act 1 is trading health for cards and relics, and then get it back after the boss. You're going to have to facetank this one, no way around it. Don't play skills at all, or at least not until he's close to dead and you're sure that you'll kill him before the strength gain ends up costing you more health than you saved.

Also, before you even get to Gremlin Nob I suggest prioritizing putting more attacks into your deck first over anything else. All three A1 Elites really want you to just smash them with as much frontloaded damage as possible, so stuffing your deck with enough attacks to consistently draw 3 energy worth every turn really helps.
Add at least 3 attacks into your deck with average 9+ damage to beat him easily and don't play skills until a turn where you are 100% sure he can die next turn.
