I got my first "Beyond Perfect" title (take no damage from any boss) and my first Barricade (999 Armor) that run, during Ascension 4.
Dead Branch + Ice Cream Cone started it off, and I proceeded to pick up Havoc, Fiend Fire, and generally anything that Exhausted cards, such as Seeing Red and Offering. Corruption came in a bit later, but by that point the deck was already decently strong. I was able to cycle through the deck multiple times per combat with little effort or worry.
Couple of Warcrys, Seeing red, Havoc, Limit Break without the upgrade, Feel no Pain x 2. The cards keep getting replaced because of the relics. I also had unceasing top half way up the city.
No exhumes yet. My deck is a mix of Exhaust and STR, although I don't have heavy blade yet...but I'm doing plenty of damage from Charon's Ashes. (I also have Panache)
Edit. Killed the final Boss. The guy who heals and re-spawns with 200 hp.
Pretty easy.
43 cards lol.
Final deck included, but not limited to:
Madness x 2, Exhume, Master of Strategy, Dramatic Entrance, Fiends Fire, True Grit. Warcry, Seeing red, Panache and Feel no pain were prob the most useful cards, as well as all the 0 energy cards that exhausted.
Amusing deck.
The deck even killed the Elite called Tangible (takes maximum 1hp damage per attack) pretty easily.
As somebody mentioned though, most of the time it's your relics that determine just how good your deck is.
Exhaust builds work a lot better if you have the relics that benefit from them, otherwise it can be difficult to synergize the cards properly (thanks to rng). Unless you are just exhausting cards to get a low deck count, then do whatever.
Dead Branch makes exhaust builds a lot more viable.
