[List of Bugs SEGA shouldn't ignore]
As we all know SEGA Dev and the team are currently working on the bigger issues like hard crashing on boot or during events. and I know there's tons of threads with bugs most of us know, but I think it is important to keep making sound of these issues so they also get fixed after the most important issues. So here's a list of medium to minor bugs and possible temporal solutions:

IMPORTANT: SEGA Dev replied to this thread and they are aware of the issues, I will keep updating this thread with the bugs users experience:

Hi all,

We don't have the bandwidth to respond in every thread, but please be assured we are reading everything. Thanks for collating the community's issues here, this does make it easier for our QA team, and I've flagged this thread to them. We appreciate your support. Another patch is incoming, so please hang tight!

Best,
SEGA Dev

[Bugs]
  • Incorrect Texture Reference Counting: Bug reported by Kaldaien who is currently working on his own mod to fix various of the games problems, This bug is likely to be the cause of various freezes and crashes in-game.

  • LOD low quality models bug: even on ultra settings normal npcs and some textures won't load their high quality versions, having a lot of npcs with flat polygonal faces and only changing to high quality when you speak to them, and as soon as the conversation is over you can see the model turning back to a very low quality mod.

*Temporal Solution: this can be fixed by moding the game following the steps on the next link: https://pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Yakuza_0&curid=97277&diff=598299&oldid=598229#Maximum_LOD_settings

This fix requires downloading 2 external files.
(Thanks to G9875 for posting this)

SEGA Dev hasn't seen this thread but he responded to another using speaking about this issue, this was his answer

  • Random freezes during gameplay or cutscenes: This is one of the bugs I've seen the most complains on the forum and it's really annoying, your game can run perfectly at 60 fps in whatever quality but randomly and apparently for no reason the game will stop for 5 to 10 seconds, this is specially annoying during cutscenes since the audio keeps playing while the image is frozen.

*** a couple of users found a workaround for this bug, in some cases it may solve it in others change the freeze to a small stutter, link here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/638970/discussions/0/1743343017611184022/

WARNING: this solution needs the download of an external software that works changing the cpu usage of aplications. use under your own risk.

  • Sound Crackling and Stuttering: for a lot of people and for no apparent reason the audio will make a crakling sound all the time and even stutter all the time.

*Temporal Solution: The only solution so far to this is going into the configuration files of the game and change some settings, you can find a guide here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1461661165

  • Infinite cursor or black screen when Alt-Tabbing in Fullscreen mode: A lot of people complain about the cursor and the camera being stuck after alt-tabbing, Also I was able to replicate the black screen when alt-tabbing while using fullscreen mode. the game still plays but the screen is just black. The only temporal solution so far is playing in borderless window mode.

  • Save/Inventory Corruption: A lot of players have reported having problems saving, saves not working, not saving and in the worst cases complete inventory corruption.

[Options SEGA should implement]
A lot of you should already know the option settings of this game is pretty lacking in some aspects, things like being able to change the volume of individual things on the settings and not master volume only (you can do it by changing manually the Audio.ini of the game) and also other important options like Blur, DoF and SSAO.

Kaldaien is doing god's work with his mod, currently fixing some of these issues and others, he has made amazing job modding other games but his mods usually only run on the newest version of Windows 10 and not everyone has that OS, and having to change your OS for a game shouldn't be a thing.

you can find his mod here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/638970/discussions/0/1739964766313755519/

I find very important that these issues don't go unnoticed by SEGA after they fix the big crashes, people shouldn't have to use third party software to fix bugs, also the fixes here I posted as "Temporal" because all of these fixes may not work after any official patch or update the game gets.

If we make Yakuza 0 a good game now SEGA will know what to look for in Kiwami.

feel free to keep making threads or post here more bugs. I will try to keep this thread updated.

  • Edit 1: Added community found bugs and an answer from Sega Dev in one of the threads.

  • Edit 2: Added more community found bugs and also a temporal solution/workaround the random freezes.

  • Edit 3: SEGA Dev was kind enough to reply to this thread, so be confident they know about these issues and are working on it. their reply is on page 3 of this thread, it is the following:

  • Edit 4: Added the save and inventory corruption bug.

  • Edit 5: The patch 2.0 is now on the BETA stage, this patch apparently fixes some of the crashes and the low poly issues, to access it you need to do the following:

    To access the beta branch:

    1. Right-click Yakuza 0 in your game library and select Properties.
    2. Select the BETAS tab.
    3. Enter the password DragonOfDojima and press the CHECK CODE button.
    4. Select community_test_branch in the drop-down menu.
    5. The build will start downloading

I use headset, I can test that.

It doesn't crash for me, but the audio stops working until rebooted.

It's possible that its related to the Razer third party software used together with said headset.

The audio not working anymore is a common issue and not related to this game specifically. (many applications have to reboot when switching sound devices)

I can confirm it only crashes with the audio mode set to 1.

I want to add a bit on the alt-tabbing. On my end, alt-tabbing automatically put the game into windowed mode, forcing me to put it into full screen again afterward. Although it doesn't always work, and sometimes the game simply become unavaible(It remains as a process, but not as an application, making it impossible to alt-tab to it again, though you can close it by terminating the procss). Basically, it's an hard lock plain and simple.

Also, I want to chime again to bring awareness to the bug regarding items IDs becoming completely messed up from time to time, which from what people could gather seems to be linked to saving(and maybe when saving fails, which sometimes seems to occur).

When it happens, the ID of consummable items, as well as equipement pieces in some cases, becomes boggled, and replaced with completely different items coming from every possible source(including restaurant menus). It is for exemple, possible to have food items replaced with various others items, including key items, or items which are permanent and impossible to remove, locking inventory slots in the process.
Strangely enough, the various medicine items seem to be immune to the effect, while food items(and fish bait) seems to be particularly affected by it.

If possible, while fixing the source of the problem, it would be nice to have some way to debug locked inventory slots due to the presence of anormal items. Majima, for exemple, should never have pocket circuit parts in his inventory, and creating rules to remove them in the event it happens would be nice to also fix the symptoms.

Sorry I was not able to reproduce the sound while disconnecting audio devices, I tried conecting and disconecting my headset and also tried with speakers, but the audio had no issues.

I'm going to come right out an label this a bug as well:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1471141988

If that whole task were more efficient, I might not care... but damn that chews through CPU cycles doing nothing useful.

yeah I'm aware of that, the cpu usage is probably the reason of most crashes and the ocational freezes ingame. I hope the next patch solves this.

I am unable to save the game or even quit to the desktop without the game hanging (not responding) unless I uninstall it and redownload it every time I want to play it. More details are in this thread here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/638970/discussions/0/1739964766310789492/

Now I had been using the SaveAnywhere=1 tweak but I have only ever saved this way using Slot 2. Slot 1, which I always continue the game from, is used for the phone booth saves. I don't think this is the cause of the issue I have and, besides, no other game out of the dozens and dozens I've played this year, including recent purchases like Forsaken Remastered, Dead Cells, Crash Bandicoot Trilogy and Madden NFL 19, have any problems saving. It's just this damn game and I'm convinced it's down to Denuvo because I cannot think why else a game would not save unless it was some kind of anti-piracy measure (gone wrong!).
Denyal Aug 9, 2018 @ 5:51am
no it is not denuvo, I've seen a lot of threads getting derailed because of people blaming all the bugs to Denuvo, please don't do that here. we actually want the game fixed.
Denyal Aug 10, 2018 @ 8:36pm
Added the save and inventory corruption bug
Yukimura Aug 10, 2018 @ 10:04pm
Sega, add option to delete saves, please; i have 7 saves now and i only use 1
Tiasmoon Aug 10, 2018 @ 10:38pm
Thats hardly a problem for you. I think im around 200 saves atm.

Saving during fights WILL cause bugs, and there's no way to complain about it, you activated a function that was not implemented for a reason, and used it on your own risk. bugs for using the Save Anywhere function are not considered bugs.
