I had that problem before, I just disabled fullscreen...
First run it as windowed, then when you can access the Special K options, you can go to window management and run it borderless fullscreen (or something along those lines lol I can't recall the option at the top of my head)

Mind posting modules.log as well?
If the mod does not work, third-party software (especially FRAPS!), anti-virus software or Windows 7 is usually to blame.
Windows 7 has a half-dozen optional updates that you need to install to use modern software such as mine; it's easier just to upgrade to Windows 10 :P
If after closing third-party software the game still does not start, please paste logs/dinput8.log, logs/modules.log and logs/game_output.log to pastebin.com and provide a link in a post.

If using Patch for Dof / LodMod then you need to go to official Steam post for it and update it to latest one. And use test-1 file. Choose one or so.
Here are the crash logs:
logs/crash.log: https://pastebin.com/Rtphgxa2
logs/dinput8.log: https://pastebin.com/TeB7FiTG
logs/modules.log: blank file
logs/game_output.log: https://pastebin.com/k9MLZfwJ
I'm using Windows 7 with all optional and mandatory updates installed. I am running the game windowed. I have already tried renaming dinput8.dll to d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll but neither worked.
Thanks
Edits:
Every line under "List Unloads" in dinput8.log says it failed.
Don't have FRAPS or other third party software running (nothing obvious at least). Scouring through the thread, I checked for FRAPS, RTSS/Afterburner, Dxtory, MSI Nahimic, and Razer.
For what it's worth, running SKIM separately without the plugin works and shows the GUI.

Turn off Skim when using this mod b/c Skim is for global injection causing conflictions.
Also there has been 3 other verified win7 users who cannot get this file to work. And the reason is due to fact that this mod uses features that Win10 only has. Yes you can kinda get them in Win7 but they don't work like they are supposed too. Which is why it's pretty much no use on Win7.

It's off. I only turned it on briefly to test if it works.
Also this mod dll file is newer than skim's version.
Nope, rundll.dll is not running.
If I can't get the plugin working on Win7, is there a way I can turn off SSAO with only SKIM?
While this fix is game specific so it is placed inside the game directory. Which is local install. That's how game fixes work.
Ah, shame... Thanks for the help!
Just a heads up btw. Cache function in this mod won't work on Win7 users like its supposed to b/c it use win10 only feature. Same with Flip Discard mode too.
