Controller UI Switching

Is there any way to configure or lock the icons the game uses in game. On one load it will show me the Playstation 4 buttons (preferred) and then the next time I play it will be the generic icons with the circles.

The inconsistency is very frustrating and making it hard to get used to the prompts for parrying and such when they keep changing almost every other play through. Has someone solved this or is there just a setting I'm overlooking.

easy to to it correctly, plug in your controller before starting the game or in case of XBOX 360 controller - activate it before starting the game and not when u launched it already. works here 100%. when i plugin my controller or activate it when the game is launched already i get the generic stuff.

If you're using my mod, under the Steam Enhancements / Compatibility tab, set "Load Steam Overlay Early." If not,simply verify that the Steam Overlay is functioning correctly and in Big Picture Mode.

It has nothing to do with steam overlay and big picture. since i am not using the steam overlay nor do i use big picture. it would be nice if you could stop advertising your mod since most of people got problems with it and flaming the forum for bad performance after that. ty.

Kaldaien is just trying to help. His mod has improved my performance and loading times by a lot. I don't see why you have to get so upset over a suggestion.

you are thinking that you have the "universal" problem solution with your mod. u refer to it every time even there is a "normal" way to "fix" stuff. most of "problems" are solved by changing some simple things. in addition your mod does cause problems on "newer" systems. it might help people on some low end processors but for most it does cause problems. and u can see it how many people complaining about issues. but they are not realizing why. you should just keep quiet for a day and see how things will go, it will get better. you dont even realize how people lauching at u.... no matter what, ignoring you now like other people do.

I am the author of my software, I know the problems it creates, I know things to suggest. Would you rather I sent someone else here to inform the user that they may have misconfigured something?

You would do well to just leave these forums, you haven't helped a soul and you simply attack anyone who is attempting to do so.

Honestly if you don't like his mod then don't use it. There's no reason to get so riled up because he offered a alternative fix to a common issue.

OK. Dumb Idea. Don't use the menu with a keyboard and mouse. Once you open FFXV just use the controller and nothing else. Works for me.

If I touch the Keyboard and mouse the controller icons change to PC controls, if I touch the Dual Shock 4 or Xbox One controller they change the button layouts/icons accordingly... but this is obviously working correctly on my computer. I like not having to exit to switch controller.

I solved this by using the wired option on my Xbox elite controller.

Both Steam and MS Store version stopped the switching after that.

Also I click once after loading and the mouse cursor goes away. No more problems.

You did? Why is your Xbox controller showing PlayStation buttons?

Getting PlayStation icons is quite a different process, I don't think you guys realize this. You're going on and on about your Xbox controllers and the solution for them, never realizing that the Steam overlay is responsible for input remapping on PlayStation controllers that causes games to become confused like this.
