English VOs would not fit anime style games, when people are gonna learn that. None of the anime's personality archetypes exist in western world, how on earth a VA work on that. Unless they are Square who have the gall to change the personalities to fit English VA then sure.

The devs have already stated that if there is a enough people who want dubbed they will do it in future games. Im just adding my voice to that. You dont need to hope on my post with your extreme negativity.

What are you even talking about? There are Japense games out there with English VO's. This anime has a dubbed version....your "arguement" holds no water.

It's quite ironic to me when God Eater 2 was released on Steam, they voiced their opinions about the game has "no Japanese dubs" and people condemn em for complaining. Just sayin'

Having both Japanesse and English voiceover would be great. Some people prefer dub and its easier for them to understand in their native tougue. This will attract more players and thats great. Plus there are western games and show with japanesse voiceover. I like the subs and i don't mind english voice over if they are done right. As before having both is good. You get to choose which voiceover you want and people who want english voiceover could have that. Its a win-win.

Considering the standards of NA Voice Acting and the cronyism involved, nah. We don't even have schools for voice acting like Japan does. Plus it's gonna be Funimation.

EDIT: Just played Xenoverse 2 to compare Funimation to Japanese VA and it's no contest, this coming from a guy who used to think Japanese VA was painful -- as in it actually hurt my ears. There's an inflection and impact in Japanese VA that Funimation lacks.

Maybe if we could get a voice over for the created character in the story first.

It be nice but I don't think the SAO games will ever get it and I'm fine with the subbed anyway, never liked the story so I skip it all and I'm too focused on not getting shot to hear my allies.

Thank you very much for your comment. We are looking to provide both english and Japanese VO on the game developped in Japan but sometimes, the production schedule just doesn't allow it.

Please don't do it. It's a waste of time and money.

If there's an English dub option in the next game, I'm not gonna buy it.

In all honesty, I don't really care if we get a English track or not. After watching a few episodes of the English dub of SAO, I would rather not have it to be honest cause those are voices are on another level of cringe. English dubs are nowhere near as good as they were back in the heyday of the Anime Boom.

Now if you release a game and put a English dub in after release then that's fine as long as it doesn't halt the release schedule of said game. <_<

It's funny how you think cronyism isn't heavily involved in Japanese voice acting.

The "schools" are actually mostly scams and the entire VA industry there runs on nepotism over talent. It's also extremely abusive to said VAs. Also, the big VA acting areas like LA actually DO have voice acting schools.

This is plain pathetic. Boycotting a game because it DARES to have OPTIONAL English voices?

As someone who understands the nuances of Japanese voice acting, I can safely say the Japanese voices are just as cringey. The nuances of the language just hide it more from non-native speakers.

I think it would be kind of funny if they were just a bunch of unique text-to-speech voices, similar to what I heard Rising Storm 2 did in it's early beta phase, although those were directly placeholders. Will From Afar sounds like a perfect choice if everyone had to have the same voice.
