It's quite ironic to me when God Eater 2 was released on Steam, they voiced their opinions about the game has "no Japanese dubs" and people condemn em for complaining. Just sayin'
EDIT: Just played Xenoverse 2 to compare Funimation to Japanese VA and it's no contest, this coming from a guy who used to think Japanese VA was painful -- as in it actually hurt my ears. There's an inflection and impact in Japanese VA that Funimation lacks.
Please don't do it. It's a waste of time and money.
If there's an English dub option in the next game, I'm not gonna buy it.
Now if you release a game and put a English dub in after release then that's fine as long as it doesn't halt the release schedule of said game. <_<
It's funny how you think cronyism isn't heavily involved in Japanese voice acting.
The "schools" are actually mostly scams and the entire VA industry there runs on nepotism over talent. It's also extremely abusive to said VAs. Also, the big VA acting areas like LA actually DO have voice acting schools.
This is plain pathetic. Boycotting a game because it DARES to have OPTIONAL English voices?
As someone who understands the nuances of Japanese voice acting, I can safely say the Japanese voices are just as cringey. The nuances of the language just hide it more from non-native speakers.
