Portal 2 Bugs With New Update
Here is a list of the known bugs that I have compiled since the Portal 2 update on June 17th:

1. Fixed

2. Fixed

3. Fixed

4. Fixed

5. Fixed

6. Fixed

7. Some users experience random crashing now when playing in either Co-op or single player. This appears to be more common with mac users at the moment.

8. Fixed

9. Some users expeience crashing after dieing in either an offical map, or a community test chamber. This appears to affect all users, especially those on a mac or using Windows 8.

10. An error regarding the kernel32.dll appears when compiling vpks, but doesn't appear to affect the compiling process.

11. Some users experience a problem in which models and textures either show up wrong, or completly dissapear all together.
-------------------------------------------------

If you know of any other bugs, please reply on this thread so I can compile a full list of all bugs involved with this update. Likewise, if you know of any fixes, please post them below as well. This should help everyone enjoy the game and the editor to the fullest extent while waiting for an offical patch from Valve.

-------------------------------------------------

UPDATE: I have contacted steam support and they are unable to help with issue #2. I'm letting you guys know so we don't jam up the already busy steam support team since the summer sales started.

Cheers,

I have no issues:

1. I have gotten this with AVG Free. For me at least, I can add Portal2.exe to exception lists.
2. Don't know and really don't care. I see no difference.
3. What is that?
4. Sorry to hear that! :(
5. I have no issues...
6. Sorry to hear that. I have no issues. Maybe the binary is for newer hardware and phasing out older hardware?

You're kind of undervaluing how much this breaks mapping for Portal 2.

I'm not trying to. I feel bad others can't play. :(

Please fix this now and while you are at it why dont you fix up adhesion gel

Some members of the Portal 2 community have been able to resolve the model browser bug in the Portal 2 Authroing Tools by replacing the bin folder in portal 2/ with a version of the same folder prior to the update on June 17th. This fix, however, while fixing the Authoring Tools, makes Portal 2 crash upon startup from either the desktop or steam. You would have to switch between the new and old bin in order to both use the Portal 2 Authoring Tools, and play the actual game.
Also this is how I was solving it but it got so annoying that I just started to open up the pak01_dir find to the location of the models I need but this method does not tell you what the models settings are so it also gets very annoying

Reporting in for Mac, the game shows in my dock a split second then vanishes. No crash, no errors, just doesn't work. It won't even attempt to load.

Add to that, that the Robot Enrichment has not been working for months :(

Why would they fix the adhesion gel.
because they originally released it, then broke it in one of early their updates of portal 2 authoring tools so no one could use it anymore and replaced it with the sticky gel (better known as reflection gel) and I for one would like it back

Remember to stay on topic! We aren't talking about past bugs or errors, just those that were specifically created with the June 17th update ;).

/signs for what it's worth

Though #1 isn't a Valve problem. If your AV vendor reports it as a virus, tell them it's a false positive! Valve can't do anything about other companies flagging their product! If you use Norton, here's the link: https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive/
If you use a different AV and are getting it flagged, just google for their false positive report form and tell them about it!
