1. I have gotten this with AVG Free. For me at least, I can add Portal2.exe to exception lists.

6. Sorry to hear that. I have no issues. Maybe the binary is for newer hardware and phasing out older hardware?
Also this is how I was solving it but it got so annoying that I just started to open up the pak01_dir find to the location of the models I need but this method does not tell you what the models settings are so it also gets very annoying
Add to that, that the Robot Enrichment has not been working for months :(
Though #1 isn't a Valve problem. If your AV vendor reports it as a virus, tell them it's a false positive! Valve can't do anything about other companies flagging their product! If you use Norton, here's the link: https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive/
If you use a different AV and are getting it flagged, just google for their false positive report form and tell them about it!
