Go to the file root, in Steam/steamapps/common/Barotruma - then contents - then possibly Windows (sorry I’m playing from a Mac, so I literally have to predict the name of the files), but either way, you are looking for a in-game file called either “config_player.xml” or “config.xml” if the first doesn’t exist. Open it with the text editor, look for a line “enablesplashscreen”. By default it should be at true, change it to false, save the file, re-open the game.
If this does not help however, try going down the file, until you see the “<graphicsmode” line, from there, try adjusting your “displaymode” to “BorderlessWindowed” or simply “Windowed” (you can change it anytime in-game), or, on the other hand, the “Width” and “Height” parameters, just in case nothing else works. Hope this helps!
For Windows crashes, we've collected workarounds here, and a fix is ready to be published in the next patch: https://trello.com/c/EbQXAzCG/288-game-crashes-during-loading-workaround-included
Hope these help! If they don't, please let us know so we can try to diagnose any previously unknown issues.
