I saw the update, thanks! Great to see how quickly you guys picked up on that.
It also seems that the amount of kills you need to get any meaningful skill increase seems to be pretty high now. We'll look into improving this, sorry for the inconvenience!
The fact you guys are improving on something I brought up months ago is great, I appreciate it.
At level 50 weapons killing a crawler at level 50 grants you 0.06315 weapon skill. For a total of 50.06315. Where 51.00 would mean level 51 weapons. This skill gain as I understand it should be from the 80 enemy health damage done.
If I reset back to level 50 and read a book with 1 crawler kill that grants you 0.028286 weapon skill. So this leads me to believe that 1 kill is worth roughly 36 health damage done to enemies. So I don't suggest pairing this talent with single large health pool enemies but instead groups of easily kill-able enemies.
As a bonus if you sit on a turret "operating it" for 5 seconds that should be the same skill gain as doing 2 enemy health damage. Or 1 crawler every 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
Bonus #2. Helm skill leveling is based on how fast your sub is moving not just sitting on the terminal alone.
As an early easy to get and shareable with your crew talent this seems much more reasonable than the earlier book that was only good for despawning. At this point I think most of the confusion will come from the store bought book being different. And this book being weaker than people expect.
