I don't think it's a Help and Support problem, it's just a general observation in my game.
This has been annoying more than anything else, and although I shouldn't have to do testing like this in the stable branch I feel for my own sanity I must now perform tests on all of the diving suits at their rated crush depths. I can then at least say whether it's some bugged thing in my campaign, the game, my submarine (can't really see how that should affect it), or game modes.
Right after the test a swarm of Threshers invaded the sub and ate my entire 11-bot crew, they all had weapons, four bots had their primary order to defend the sub from invaders, and the sub's weapons were manned. Sub had not moved from the start area.... but that is another issue.
I restarted the round, this time the normal diving suit did suffer the effects of pressure (and my guy still imploded despite being inside the air lock having just closed the door, which is bonkers IMO - they could die of pressure-related injuries, but should not implode with the door shut), all other diving suits were fine at 5,230m.
I know 100% that I did not have any normal diving suits on the sub previously (I had to build them for this test), I'm also 100% sure that I equipped a slip suit, it's hard to miss not least because one walks so slowly in them, so something is randomly bugging them at least in my game.
Different problem, same root cause - devs just not fixing obvious (and sometimes long-standing) bugs. I'm not saying the suit pressure randomness is new or old, it may be difficult to recreate (and thus will probably be ignored until it affects everyone all of the time), but it definitely happened to me while I was 100% controlling my crewman and should be on the long list of things that need fixing.
Every time this pressure problem happens in my game I'm going to update this thread.
I agree but i stand behind what i said something sometimes must be said.
But i am glad to hear that small team is looking at bug reports and support cant wait till you get to my Mining in Volcano one. Since i didnt get much answer from players.
Since we haven't run into this issue ourselves and it doesn't seem to be a widespread bug, I suspect that it requires some more specific circumstances to occur. Perhaps some specific combination of items and afflictions that alter the pressure protection or something along those lines. If you can provide any more clues that might help us diagnose the problem, could you please submit a report using the link above? It would also help others who may have encountered the issue to chip in. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience!
I do not bait (at least not on purpose, whatever others may think), I may sometimes post things in jest but I try to make it obvious when I do; it's easy to misinterpret meaning in online forums. Undiplomatic? Most likely. Straight to the point and a bit exasperated in my forums posts at times? Guilty as charged! I'd say I'm highly experienced with playing the game since Early Access, but a good player? That is very subjective. I've reached the end in single player and multiplayer several times, built several custom subs and a mod.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look at this and respond. I apologise if I sounded terse before, just I do see a lot of things going apparently unheeded. For all the flak you devs must take, you must have skins of steel!
Very curious idea about afflictions or combination of items that would cause the problem to occur. I have now moved past that particular round in my game but my bot survives (he's since been injured by fauna and healed by my medic bot and also fully healed by the station doc now, so if he had an affliction it'll be long gone). Items would just be typical things like Rifle, Welder, first aid items, Ruck Sack. I'll send a more detailed bug report at the link provided.
