Report a translation problem
We appreciate reports if anything goes unexpectedly wrong following an update so that we can better anticipate those adverse effects in the future and inform players – developing an early access title with a steady player base, we don't to cause undue annoyance to anyone with updates! With the update this week in particular, I don't believe you should run into any major problems.
The reason i asked is, I did some testing and it appears that the save game files keep a "snapshot" of the sub from when the campaign was started, and use this "snapshot" for loading the sub, instead of reading the .sub file under the Submarines/ directory again.
Hence, if a change is introduced to a sub (in the .sub file), the sub in the savefile wont have it?
Reason i suspect this (game using a snapshot of the sub in savegame file instead of the actual .sub file), is because i did an experiment:
- On the sub editor, I made a very slightly modified version of the vanilla orca. Just added a bottom camera, 3 more diving suit lockers and linked the fabricator to the storage box. I named it Orca++.
- I started a new campaign with my Orca++, played several missions
- I opened the Orca++ file on the editor again, and made a small change to the hull.
- When i loaded my saved game, the last change i made to the sub was not there (in the game), but it was saved in the Orca++.sub file (i can see it if i open it on the editor).
So it seems the game is not using the .sub file to load my orca++ when i load my saved game.
Thats why i was affraid that if changes were made to the .sub files in the coming update, my current campaign (started in the current version) would not "see" such changes.
Well =_=
