This game is way too expensive...
I seriously don't understand how the developers can be selling this game at an original price tag of $30. Especially when the game is in early access, and it is a multiplayer centric game. If I want to get my friends to play this game with me, it's going to be a lot harder to convince them when the price tag is STILL $17.99 with a 40% discount. Even that price tag is way too high for a game that demands multiple people get it. I don't understand they don't just go for a $10 game and then tack on $5 dlc for new content once the game is actually released and people have decided they will pay for more after playing and enjoying. That's how most games operate now adays anyway. I want to play this game, but I know none of my friends are going to buy it because it's too high of a price for a game they're not even sure they want. I will say that, from my perspective at leats, they are losing money. $10 x 8 = $80, $18 x 0 = $0... And I'm certainly not going to play with a bunch of randoms. I don't ever complain about the prices of games but damn it seems pretty justified here.

This is a 5 bucks game not more.
as is? it could be a 15 dollar game with room to increase as it leaves early access and is more developed.

Just saying, *cough-cough*, due to my low expertise, you can buy a steamkey for this game which will be about 3-4 times cheaper than the steam price. Googling it up is pretty damn easy.

Suck it up, kiddo. Things cost money.

If you whine and cry about forking over your precious 30 bucks for something worth hundreds of hours of playtime, I'd hate to see how much you ♥♥♥♥♥ over the 60+ dollar titles with 10 hours of content that is the industry standard these days.

TLDR: Suck it up, stop being an entitled brat.

People like this are just a problem, for society, in general. There are full working titles that come out with regular updates ( Terraria is a great example) that don't cost half as much as Barotrauma. I have no idea why the developer would think it's acceptable to charge people $30 to essentially test their game for bugs. This is why early access is just a dumb idea. You are paying for a game that isn't even finished and are expected to test it for the developer. By the time the game is finished you will have already moved onto other games. Hell, you might not even want to play Barotrauma again after having tested it for so long. If a game is on Steam, it should be a fully functioning game...especially if it's going to cost $30. Games like theHunter: Call of the Wild may as well be a Triple-A title and it only costs $20.

The Hunter was free for ages before it was on steam but they make their money from micro transactions. not judging The Hunter, i liked it, but its not a good comparison to a game which is relying on single purchases to fund developers to work for years.

the developers of Brigador (which is fekin awesome btw) wrote a very interesting response to price complaints on this thread, which i always think of in times like these. well worth a read as it puts things into perspective. note they are a small self funded company with no publisher to take cuts so not a perfect comparison either

TL:DR you can spend more on a nickelback poster than on a game that took 5 years to make

so i dunno, maybe Baro was a little more than i expected but i've gotten very good value for my money personally, and i don't begrudge the devs at least one gold plated lambourgini for their troubles ;)

About the price, i think its fair on discount, i payed with 40% discount and honestly i dont regret it, even tough when the game first released here i was against the price, now i see that even if a bit steep, its worth it(on discount).

You get a diferent expirience everytime and doing missions with your friends is alot of fun, especially when all is silent, and you see a giant blimp on the radar and the captain screams "MOLOCH! BATTLE STATIONS!"

Now we would have a bigger community had the price been cheaper, and perphaps the game would have sold even better, but that is not our reality, and unfortunetly we got to pay more for dadelic and the devs, does it mean your critiscism is invalidated?no, go ahead and critiscise, as long as you remain civil(that goes for everyone), i see no problem.

The game costs 57 brl where i am, and i can buy 3 all you can eat buffet entries with that and some sodas

While I do agree original price is too high, OP is basically speaking broke.
Cmon man I'm not broke. There are some things that are worth my money and some things that simply aren't. I'm not paying $30 for a game that I will never be able to play with my friends at this point. It's like people don't even read the post.
How you not having friends is an issue?

Tbh, early access games without set release date goal are pretty much always too expensive-you're paying full price for a product that might never get completet/get completed so far in the future you aren't going to care anymore. That's how I abandoned Foxhole and 7 days to die.

Maybe people pay to play the game as it is? Not everyone buys to "invest" in a grand future when the base game can still bring enjoyment. How much enjoyment varies from person to person, so obviously opinions on price will vary as well. I think the price is high, and I think it would be best to be a little bit lower, but if this is what they have to go with, I'd still pay for it at this price should I do it all over again.

Tbh, for lots of people the prices for EA games are okay as they are, because there is already enough content in those games to justify their prices. Barotrauma is no exception. Sure, they can and will add more content. Which justifies an even hihger price at 1.0 release.

I agree with op, the price is waaaay to high for an early access game that is still in development. I think 20$ is good as a regular price, then once the game is well and truly finished they can charge 30$ or more for it. I believe I heard somewhere that the publisher forced the devs to price the game so high and that the devs don't actually agree with it, but that might just be heresay.
The Flaming Pike 28 ABR 2020 a las 2:18 p. m.
I think that like Rimworld ( which I also own and love ), the price is just right where it should be, but like Rimworld I understand some people will just look at it and think it's overpriced. Some people associate prices with graphics. I don't. Yes, it could be lower, but then again there are more expensive games out there that are much worst and some of them are supposedly AAA titles, no less. I'd rather pay 5 or 10 bucks more for an original game than an half-assed port or a clone of a previous game ( like the Call of Duty franchise ). But I think that's just a matter of opinion.

Why do you even care how much money it costs? You're just using your parents money anyway.
