Useful site to check lowest recorded prices : https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=final+fantasy
well, ps2 copy doesnt eat away 50 gbs though :D (i know, im awful at freeing hdd space and also dloading speed)

As for price, idk, perhaps currency from country of player dropped in comparison to usd so now all games cost 2 times more
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster : 24.99€ (20€ the week of its release), 12.49€ in sale.
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age : 49.99€, 24.99€ in sale.
Both PS2 games with a HD patch, but with a huge price difference. And X/X-2 includes two (even three) games. Twice the price for half of the content in a way.
It's like Final Fantast VII and VIII, they have the same price, but IX, also a PS1 game, is more expensive for whatever reasons.
And then we have Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age on PS4, which can be bought for 15 to 20€ for a physical copy, new, sealed.
The game's worth the 24.99€ asked in sale, but because of that price strategy, that's a no for me. For 20€, the same price I bought X/X-2 HD the day of the release, that would be conceivable. For 12.49€ like X/X-2 in sale, that would be an instant buy.
For now, I'll stick with my memories of the game on PS2.
The price won't go any lower than 50%. The entire FF franchise has been like this here on Steam, no matter how old the games are or for how long they've been available on Steam. They never go lower than 50%.
That said, XII is worth it even though it isn't as cheap as the XIII trilogy. And now that we have the QOL features added to the Switch version, this is the best version out there.
Game is great that doesn't mean Argentina gamers will buy great games at $60 when they can get AAA for $15-$30.
SE used to price well now they don't for some regions.
Dark Souls Deluxe is around $75 and it even got 83% sale and price came down to $9 less of this games current price on sale.
200-400 hours from Yakuza 0, kiwami & kiwami 2 combined launch price $36 with sale it's around $20, lesser than this games Original price or price on sale.
Even if a game is greatest ever made Argentina gamers won't pay absurd price for the game(pc) ie US price or more, same for few other regions.
