Egyptian Gods
The mythology in this game is so interesting, I was wondering though, I have not heard of (Isis) or (Set) being mentioned in the game. Anyone of heard of those two?

if you want a small spoiler u can always search their names in Assassin's Creed Wiki. (Set as Seth), no result could suggest not being mentioned at all.

seems the devs merged Set with Anubis. ("Anubis" got Was-sceptre, summons Hyenas etc).
Seth outfit had also been requested but Ubi ignored. (what a shame, Set Animal is way more unique than that over-rated jackal)

not sure about Isis, don't care about that cvnt anyway XD

haven't started Origins yet, but from what i can see from surface, myth in this game looks weak. besides trail of the gods, screenshots only show some modern imagination, Anubis Clones & Walking Mummies from 1999 Mummy films.

Yeah, I love AC Origins, I've been playing this more then AC Odyssey to be honest. I noticed the main gods that are mentioned are Amun, Ra, Anubis, Osiris, Sekhmet, Horus, and Sobek. Though I read Amun and Ra became one and is now considered Amun-Ra which I don't understand fully and same with Anubis and Osiris. Osiris is the god of the dead but so is Anubis, I guess it depends on the Old Kingdom to New Kingdom mythos.

i love ancient egypt more, but Odyssey seems to offer more freedom (slaughter civilians XD & few more mods).

yes all those depends which period.
as a hobbyist, i think what i understand is:

Ra has always been the chief god of Egypt,
Amun is originally the patron deity of Thebes.
at some point, the Thebes dudes expelled foreign ruler so their mascot became nationally important,
(i suppose) they merged the two chief gods to make things easier.

the Egyptian weirdos have a strange habit of merging gods though, Ra-Horakhty, Sobek-Ra etc.

Anubis was originally lord of the dead.
when the Osiris Myth (Set's murder story) became popular, egyptians made the slaughtered Osiris king of the dead and leave the dirty job (mummification) to Anubis.
so the later version is like Hades-Thanatos relationship.

(feel free to correct me if i'm wrong)

i wish there were more god outfits like Odyssey...

How do you like Odyssey and the Fate of Atlantis DLC? Have you played them?

As i remember it, certain gods were prominent at different times. Origins takes place close to year 0 (clash of Roman, Greek and Egyptian empires) which means that Egypt celebrated the "new gods" while the "old gods" were fading..

Some of the gods also changed names during the ~2700 years they were worshiped.

Have you gone through all the guided tours - and all the stone circles where Bayak talk about the gods ?

I think it has to do with the time frame the story is set in. This is when Egypt was comprised of Egyptians and Greeks. In an attempt to unite the people Pharaoh Ptolemy merged some of the gods of both people resulting in gods like Serapis (which has the same statue as Hades in the game if you didnt notice).

I just finished the small pyramid next to the 2 big ones ... and here the story of Seth is "read" on the inscription (blue text)

that information is probably included in Assassin's Creed Wiki.
wrote it that way to reduce mini-spoiler.

I wondered why they would add a new god and everyone would go along with it. Serapis for both Egyptian and Greeks to worship. So they just eventually go along with it? I mean Serapis was not there before so why now worship Serapis at all? There's still the Greek and Egyptian gods that eveyone knows that have been there for centuries.
