Tool swiching - not working?

I have the dart and fire bomb tool abilities, and a full inventory for both darts and bombs. However, when I want to change from bombs to darts, the keyboard #4 (defaullt key) will not work, i.e. I am "stuck" with fire bombs (also....my 2nd game character is "stuck" with darts).

I have no problems switching between my duel bows, just the two tools. I tried binding the tool to another key, but i am still stuck with bombs, whether or not i tap the key or hold it. Is this a bug or what am i doing wrong?

Yes it seems to be bugged . Even when using a controller it won't switch.

Maybe it's not intended to be switched quickly? Maybe they need to add a skill to be able to switch from 2 different tools like in the weapon and bows?

Hopefully if it's indeed a glitch they would address it in the next patch.

Same but I have not seen so much more coverage of this, either way, I want to be able to quickly switch tools.

Not a glitch it was intended to work that way which is stupid. Should be able to equip at least 2 tools or switch between the 3 of them.

Yeah, I can agree with that but this needs to be changed for quality of life

How is it intended that way when it is clear that you can unlock both firebomb and dart ability? If that was the case then it shouldnt be able to unlock any more abilities if they cancel another out. I have had the same problem ever since game launch and even today when ive tried playing again in hopes that they had fixed it the problem remains. Its impossible to switch tools either from inventory or from using D-pad/keyboards ingame.

You can easily switch tools from the inventory screen.

What was intended was that you could only equip one tool at a time in the inventory screen and can't fast swap them.

This is reinforced by the loading screens and tool tips.

Did you miss what i wrote?? I cannot switch TOOLS IN INVENTORY. its broken. You highlight the tool you want to use but nothing happens.

It's not a bug, it's by design. It is a bit of a pain, but it follows the same logic as every other gear. The numbered keys cycle through gear spots, but you only have one for the tools, hence having to go to the inventory to change them. Pressing 4 more than once would only be useful if you had 2 tool spots, like with every other gear set.

And just to be clear, am replying to the OP issue.

He did ask about changing tools, what he was asking about was how to switch between differnt tools while playing the game. As in a similar way you can switch between two swords or two bows. (which isn't a features supported by the game in regards to tools) This was answered and finished back in OCTOBER when this thread began and ended.

Necro refers to necromancy which in terms of forums tends to talk about the revival of long dead threads in a forum.

You can't even switch from torch to tool. I press T for torch, then C for sleep dart I draw a bow. Surely this gets fixed in any DLCs?
