How do I survive in the cold? (Iceborn)
I'm trying to play the addon right now, but I can't get any further. I have warm clothes, but my stamina is almost gone very quickly. What can I do about this?

thx

Drink a Hot Drink. The item box has them for any official hunt, and there's always a Hot Pepper plant near every camp in hoarfrost.

If you are in Iceborne area like Hoarfrost Reach, you need to drink "Hot Drink" made from "Hot Pepper". You can also purchase it if I remember correctly. This will prevent your stamina from decreasing constantly.

Most of the times (if not all), on quests the chests should come with some.

Another bad addition to World with the hot/cold mechanic. Other games had similar aspects and nobody liked them there either.

Nah would be sick to get more of stuff like that. Just would be nice that they put this into clothes or decos or a meal before quest.

Bad take. I hate how Rise removed this mechanic, just one of the many streamlined/QoL changes many players hated.

I prefer immersive gameplay with dynamic mechanics, not monster figher streamline.

What was bad was that the item necessary to prevent the cold is literally right outside the camp… so what is the point? And it's worse that OP is asking that since it clearly wasn't obvious.

I agree with this. You may as well not even have the item or mechanic at all with the gimme Hot Drink mats right outside of camp 1. Hopefully they do it right in Wilds.

I'm pretty sure this mechanic was introduced the first time you went to Hoarfrost Reach by the handler?

EDIT: It was also introduced when you went to Elder Recess too with "Cold Drink"

How could this guy not know the basics? How come he has 27 hours and is already in Iceborn? Is it normal for people to skip the whole game? What's the point?

Honestly, I see it a lot. They blast through the game with defender weapons and guardian armor, do none of the side content, learn none of the systems, skip every tutorial, then get clapped in master rank because they literally know nothing about the game.

On the discord, I frequently see people that are up to Barioth, still in guardian armor, no mantles, no resources because they never touched the botanical research, no canteen ingredients, no palico gadgets, still missing camps. There's just this group of people that simply ignore 90% of the game's content for seemingly no reason.

Even seen a few that ignore Iceborne's endgame. They'll be capped at MR99, asking how to progress, because they never got the quest to fight Ruiner Nergi since that requires having at least 12 levels total in the guiding lands, but they never set foot in there unless the assigned quest told them to.

Yep. One of the very first things you do after landing in Hoarfrost is start heading out of the camp, and the handler walks up to a hot pepper plant, which is unavoidably directly in your path, and says "We can make a hot drink out of these peppers to beat the cold."

I've got 80 hours in the base game and I'm having a lot of fun, the game is getting better and better... What's the point here? I'm going to be sad when i reach Iceborn, because it's going to be a long time before Wilds is released. It's a very good game, i bought it a few years ago and it didnt click at first, but now i fu**ing LOVE it. I want to spend at least 300 hours here, maybe more, but i don't know exactly what to expect. Is MP better in Iceborn? I think most of the players are there, it's kind of a mess in the base game... I mean, i like playing solo, but i do like to respond a few SOS sometimes.
