Lunastra Special assigment not apearing?

Heyo. So i will cut it short as i don't know where this thread goes but i seem to have run into a problem with Lunastra. or specifically. The special assignment for her. You see after i started the Iceborne DLC it marked most of the quests as done which i didn't really care about too much. But now i can't seem to acces any of the quests regarding Lunastra or even the quest leading up to it (The Blazing Sun).

I just wanted to know if this is a common issue and if there is a way to fix this? It really sucks being unable to fight Lunastra in any way due to needing the materials and... Well. Fighting her too. Thanks in advance!

Well you can fight her in the DLC so its not like she's gone for you for good, but try finding someone fighting her in a quest and join them then once you've unlocked her by discovering her you can search up her quests in SOS

Alright. That's good news. But does this mean i will be unable to get the mantle you can unlock from the missions you got to do? Cause i'd be a shame to miss out on that. Also how far in is she in the DLC? Like. Do you get a random quest for hunting her at some point? Cause while joining SOS missions can be fun i'd also like to be able to start the hunt myself.

if the quest for her is completed then you should automatically get the temporal mantle so check your equipment, and she's pretty late game in the DLC, all elder dragons are late game just like how it was in the base game.

Lunastra works in the DLC like Black Diablos or Azure Rathalos in basegame, there's no formal introduction to her and you unlock her Master Rank Optional quest only after encounting her randomly.

However, I highly recommend finding her HR equivalent first for crafting Lunastra weapons and for the Temporal Mantle. The HR quests that are completed for you upon getting Iceborne are ONLY the HR-capping Assignments, nothing else is counted as "completed" to my knowledge.

Regarding why you might not've seen it, it appears as a prompt in Astera with I believe the only requirement for her Special Assignment being that you need to complete the Deviljho Special Assignment first. If memory serves, The Huntsman in Astera should have the blue exclamation mark prompt above his head. (he's near the council table)

See that is the issue. I never got to do her assigment beforehand so i never got the quest to get the mantle. I've checked my inventory and it isn't there. Same with any form of quest related to her. I was hoping they would still be open after you entered iceborne but that seems to not be the case. I only did the Deviljoh special assigment while waiting for Iceborne.

So the one i "find" isn't the MR one? Glad to hear that. Don't think i'd be able to take the MR version out alone. That being said. Is she stronger than the ones you fight in the special assignments?

As for the gear. Yea that is the plan. I can see the weapons can be crafted from the smithy but i am unsure about the mantle cause it was a quest reward i belive i read? And that is odd. As mentioned the blazing sun quest did not apear for me at the smithy after i got done with Deviljoh. Could my HR rank be too low perhaps? I've been back a few times to Astera and the only new thing for me there is the Poogie can find stuff and the Elder Melter gave me some decorations.
