Discord is causing EAC to kick me.

I'm just curious if anyone has had this problem or if it's just me. I've put in a support ticket at EAC but they have yet to respond to me.

Didn't Discord have an overlay feature? If it does, maybe check if it's really disabled. I had EAC prevent me from starting the game in the past because of a voice chat overlay I used.

turned it off to no avail, it started happening before the new update like saturday which sucks because now i have to discord on my phone for chat in game.

Could you be more specific ?
EAC is typically not verbose in error messages so how do you know it is discord, have you tested it ?

have you reinstalled Discord and verified game files in Steam for Sandstorm to see if there is some data corruption ?

Also typically, network connections may be caused by security software (antivirus, cleaning software, etc.) simply because it is trying to block one app and shuts down some others.

I'm guessing I have the same problem now, since this recent update. Sandstorm will not continue to run if Discord is running. I can start the game fine, sit at whatever screen, then start discord and game will crash to desktop. If I have Discord already running and try to start game it will get almost to the game menu screen and then CTD.

Oh I already had issues with this before update, game would not start if Discord already running, sometimes it didn't matter, but sometimes it did. I could always load Discord after the game had full loaded and they worked together fine. Since this update, cannot be run together at all that I can find.

OK found a different workaround, disable game overlay in discord.. lame

Please do not necro year old topic as it may no longer be relevant, which is exactly your case.
There were some changes in iss that make it less stable with overlays.
