MEGA Thread: 1.5 Error codes & Crashes

Hi everyone,

We have noticed that since the latest update of 1.5, many of you have been experiencing various crashes and error codes when trying to play Sandstorm. We have sent notes out to the developers to see what exactly is happening, but we are waiting to hear an ETA. Here is what we know about the situation.

Update December 9th

If you are still experiencing issues, please make a post on this thread including the following information. This allows NWI to collect enough information to properly analyze the situation.

• Your SteamID / preferred contact name
  
• Full PC specs or provide a DxDiag
  
• Video driver version if DXDiag is not provided
  
• Sandstorm video setting: SETTING - GAME - VIDEO i.e High, medium, Low presets
  
• Frequency of issue if appropriate : i.e Always, often, sometimes (Attempts / Tries)
  
• What play type: Local Play, Via Matchmaking, Community Server (#server name)
  
• Screenshot should have Debug Overlays on, this includes FPS Counter, Net Stats and level location (coords). - SETTINGS - GAME - Scroll to bottom - DEBUG OVERLAYS
  
• Video evidence of the issue where appropriate
  
• Description of issues in as much detail as possible

Common Errors

Some of the error codes are as follows:

• Application was unable to start
  
• Anti-cheat violation
  
• Untrusted File
  
• Unhandled Exception
  
• Error code 0XC00007B
  
• And various other error codes / crashes

Potential Fixes

While we currently do not have a confirmed fix, we recommend giving the following a try. If none of the solutions work, please let us know.

1) First and foremost, reboot your PC.

2) Verify Game Cache

3) Perform Clean Boot[support.microsoft.com]

Try to use manual time/zone settings and see if it makes a difference.

Change your PC time zone and time to the correct time. :huntdeer:

I had this problem with another game or maybe the same game a while back

For some strange reason, this worked. Literally just set my time zone to automatically detect, and blimey... It worked! hahaha, was able to play the game just fine, as you can probably tell by my play time.
