If you want to test also a CPU load, Prime95 is a good one to do just that.
Thank you for your response.
Not only is this GPU less than 9 months old but it runs every other game I have tried without a problem except SQUAD, which shares the same engine. I'm sure fortnite and Ark would crash too but I don't play them, others do and they are having the same error code, Unreal Engine is what connects all these games.
My normal stable OC of +220 Core +480 Memory would most certainly bring out any issue related to a dying GPU.
My 6600k stable OC of 4.5Ghz also has no impact on this because I tried both with and without it.
Only benchmarks and stress tests I have run other than general gaming are from 3DMark which I know is by no means a stressful "stress test" but again it would still highlight a simple problem such as a dying GPU.
Do a several hour run of Furmark+Prime95 and see if that's stable.
You obviously don't agree that a GPU dying (impacts only 2 games, both UE) within 9 months(light/medium usage but you didn't know that) is unusual... I am not sure what to say.
I mean this with all sincerity, thank you for trying to help me but I feel like I must have provided incorrect information somewhere as I am completely puzzled as to how based on what I have said you could possibly think the problem is my hardware, in the sense that its broken anyway.
https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/670166/unreal-engine-is-exiting-due-to-d3d-device-being-l-8.html - As I alluded to this is a known "issue" with many UE games.
My attempt to more directly raise this issue on the forum and potentially receive some secret developer wisdom was quite clearly short sighted, I do honestly appreciate the response though.
**EDIT**
"MSI afterburner/RivaTuner on & off - If I apply a -200Mhz Underclock it seems to run for abit longer before CTD... W T F" - I have found that -200 to both Core and Memory allows me to play the game for between 30 - 120 minutes before CTD.
Now Arc I feel like you are going to say it's my GPU dying for sure but I know you are wrong as much as some of the evidence would agree with you. Not only is my MAX temp 64c but there's no artifacts/lines infact when the game runs, it's perfect 60+ fps, High settings and mostly 150x resolution scale. Other games (except UE SQUAD) run fine.
There is some kind of conflict somewhere between UE and my end...
I'm going to keep tinkering as always, will report back.
I imagine you are incredibly busy at the quietest of times but if somewhere, somehow you wish to ponder or even share my particular problem(not a dying GPU) it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
**EDIT**
Searched a bit and a dude said that the res.-scale caused the problems for him...

Thanks for your help.
I tried it with default res and -80 scaling neither seem to impact the moment of CTD. Same old error. I'm thinking might as well keep it at 1.5x for the eye candy if it's going to crash either way.
As of right now the best results are from underclocking my GPU, that usually allows me time for 2-3 games before CTD. It's funny that the GPU is such a beast that it doesn't impact my fps too much but it is by no means a fix and I'm becoming increasingly frustrated at the fact I have to knee-cap my computer in order for this game (and SQUAD both UE) to run for a short period of time, it doesn't make sense...yet.
AMD 3600
Vega 64
I game Insurgency (max settings on 1440) and Squad (all High setting).
Running the latest drivers.
GPU max's out at about 85decC and CPU tops at 65degC.
It resolved itself. Its disappearance is as mysterious as its arrival.
Still a source of frustration for me.
I wish you all the best my friend!
